1. Revision 4.1
How to Setup Tethering/Mobile Hotspot on Your iPhone
Please be aware that the standard data plans DO NOT allow Tethering/Mobile Hotspot. You are
required to get a more expensive data plan in order to use this feature with AT&T.
The Mobile Hotspot (via Wi-Fi) feature is only available for the iPhone 4 or newer iPhones. The
iPhone 3GS does not support this feature. You can still use the Personal Hotspot feature for tethering
(USB) on older iPhones.
You need to have iOS 4.3 or later for this feature.
- You can check to see if your iPhone has this version by going to Settings > General > About.
- If you are running an older version of iOS then you’ll need to connect your iPhone to iTunes on
your computer and upgrade it.
If you do not have Tethering/Mobile Hotspot:
Login into Tangoe by clicking on this link (https://tem.supervalu.com/tem) and place an order to update
your Features on your line to include tethering. If you encounter an error when logging into Tangoe
then skip down to the bottom of this document for troubleshooting steps.
Click on “Manage Existing Wireless Service”, select your phone number, click on “Change Features” and
enter your zip code. Select the ADD radio button for the “Mobile Hotspot with Tethering (4GB Data
Limit) for iPhone / Android” and complete the order. It will take 1-2 business days for your order to be
processed. Once you have been notified that the order has been completed you can continue with this
guide.
If you have Tethering/Mobile Hotspot then continue following this guide on the next page:
