NATAL COASTAL DISTRICT MISSION INDABA WEDNESDAY 18 APRIL 2012,MANNING ROAD METHODIST CHURCH.9.30 TO 13H00: District Mission Task Group Leaders; Representatives from organisations and some ministers met to hear Rev Dr Mvume Dandala remind us of what is Mission using Acts 3: 1 to 10; updated about the latest thinking at Connexional Level from Rev Emmanuel Gabriel and heard how Bishop Mike Vorster sees Mission from the perspective of the District. 4. The Net of God’s Love, Care and Justice is spread across KZN
through 60000 plus members, 300 plus societies and 19
Circuits all of us are part of the MCSA Natal Coastal District –
we are everywhere!
5. NATAL COASTAL DISTRICT IS a manageable size in terms of Circuits and
geographical area. Context: The largest proportion of KZN’s 10 million
people live in the Natal Coastal District - about 7 million. The District
comprises 19 Circuits and about 300 societies, with approximately 60
000 members. 93 full time workers, who include ordained, probationer
ministers, evangelists, bible-women and youth/lay pastors, 950 Local
Preachers, as well as the many lay leaders serve our churches. The
area is from ‘Toti to Mozambican border. Presently there are
approximately more than 600 mission projects of different
categories, ranging from working with the poor, feeding the hungry to
ministry offered to those infected / affected by HIV and AIDS - we have
the highest rate of infection in the country, perhaps in the world.
