  • 1. The evening begins as the oldest man ignites a holiday fire .
  • 2. According to an old tradition , on the table there are :- boiled corns- boiled beans- dried fruit- garlic- honey- nuts- ritual bread- stuffed peppers or cabbage with rice
  • 3. In the ritual bread there is a coin and who finds it will be healthy and rich throughout the whole year.The bread is broken into pieces :- for God- for every member of the family- and for all animals It is a custom not to leave the table before every one has been fed !!!
  • 4. After midnight Koledari ( boys up to 12 years ) go around from house to house singing songs and carrying health . Hostesses give them buns , dried fruit , nuts and candies.
