This assignment covers P2, M2 and D2 of the Grading Criterion in Unit 65.
The purpose of this assignment is to: give you experience in planning an intuitive and interesting interactive web site in response
to a client’s brief
Scenario:
Oz Backpackers, offers economical accommodation to backpackers throughout Australia. Oz Backpackers realise they need a fully
interactive and animated web site and have approached your design company to create an web site that provides backpackers
with key information about hostels, tips on travelling in Australia, information on popular tourist sites and a booking form for
travellers to be able to book accommodation.
Tasks Grading Criteria Mapping
Task 1: Generate and record in your diary ideas for the website. Research the web for inspiration. Unit 65, P2, M2, D2
Look for sites that contain interactive components such as http://www.thesimpsons.com.
You will need to comment on, and explain, Visual style; colour palettes; typography; sounds;
animations; interactivity,
Comment on ideas you could possibly use on your website and ones you would reject
Task 2: Consider and interpret the brief by word processing a proposal for the client Unit 65, P2, M2, D2
The proposal should include such things as:
How you have interpreted the brief and what will be included in your site.
What you will do to cover the client’s requirements:
 Target audience
 Aesthetic quality
 Visual style
 Layout
 The type of Images to be used.
 Publishing format.
Legal and ethical considerations, such as copyright, libel; confidentiality, decency, privacy; and
representation of race, gender, religion and sexuality must be included in the proposal
Task 3: Find suitable assets for your website such as source images, created images, videos, text files Unit 65, P2, M2, D2
for your chosen idea and document their locations.

2. Task 4: Create draft sketch ideas of your website pages and content, and then produce detailed Unit 65, P2, M2, D2
storyboards, using your ideas and the proposal, to show how you will developed these into your final
product.
Task 5: Compile a comprehensive development log evidencing your creative work. Unit 65, P2, M2, D2
