Unit Heaters- Heating to the edges of wide open spaces

E-Comfort USA – http://www.e-comfortusa.com

A unit heater is a heater that is designed to be used in garages, warehouses,
meeting halls, or other large spaces. Originally designed to heat small areas like
one car garages, unit heaters can now heat virtually any environment, from a
small shed to a mass production warehouse. For the pragmatic consumer, unit
heaters are a convenient and cost effective alternative to other forms of central
heating.

There are several different types of unit heaters available on the market today.
The most popular unit heaters are electric unit heaters, gas, and hot water/steam
operated units.

If you are looking to simply heat a garage or other small area, an electric heater is
a great choice. The venting issue common with other types of heaters is
eliminated because it produces no fumes. This also means you do not have to
purchase any outside fuels, or spend time disposing byproducts. An electric
heater is ready to use right out of the box, and it rates as one of the most
economical heating choices with 100% fuel efficiency.

Gas fired unit heaters are great for large spaces that require more heat. Gas
burns hotter than most other fuels and is therefore more efficient for heating
large rooms or especially cold environments. With today’s technology, large
systems are available that are user friendly and easy to use. Most units come with
a combustion chamber with large, accessible service panels for easy maintenance.

The life of the heater will far exceed what was previously possible as well, with
pressure-atomizing flame retention burners that reduce wear on the unit.

Hydronic unit heaters use hot water or steam which is fed in from a centrally
located boiler. These heaters are typically suspended from the ceiling with a
threaded rod. Propellers inside the unit project the hot air into the surrounding
environment for optimal heating.

Unit heaters can be mounted in many different ways that maximize both space
and heating. They can be mounted on walls and adjusted so that their heat
travels along the most efficient trajectory. They can blow straight down when
mounted on the ceiling or across the floor when they are left on the ground. The
designs of today’s unit heaters are also more advanced than ever before. They are
tough enough to be installed in factory settings, and stylish enough to be installed
in public areas like retail stores or town halls.

Before purchasing your unit heater keep in mind how much heat your space will
require. Most people think that bigger is better, but this isn’t necessarily true. If
you purchase a unit that is too big, you can grossly overspend on fuel and
electricity. And if you go too small, your heater will not be able to keep up with
your heating demands and you could reduce the life of the unit. If you have any
questions concerning our unit heaters feel free to contact us anytime. Our skilled
technicians can recommend the perfect unit heater for your specific needs. See
