August 2010 Chamber Update
1. Presentation to Chamber Membership – August 2, 2010
Kris Nelson – President 2010
Jennifer Wells MacGillonie – Executive Director
2. Long ago in a universe far, far away
Tim Caldwell was our
able leader for more
than 15 years and he
did a great job
Chamber
accomplished a lot
with few resources
3. Then everything changed
Tim announced he was
leaving
A new executive director
was hired
VIC moved and was
opened
New executive director
quit
Jennifer and new board
stepped in
4. Chamber began rebuilding
Our first instinct was to
rebuild what we had
always done
Get the VIC open and
settled
Get back on track with
lunches, sponsors
Get back to membership
solicitation
5. Then came the merger
Port Ludlow, Tri-Area
chambers indicated
they wanted to merge
to gain consistent
administration,
management and to
be part of a bigger
organization with
more reach
6. Where do we stand now?
We are a much
different
organization than
the one Tim
Caldwell led
We are growing
and redesigning
ourselves to meet
new challenges in
a new decade
7. Increased communications
with members
