Why should we care ? <ul><li>-Hurricane Katrina killed an  appro ximate  . total of 10,000 people </li></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><li>-It harmed multiple states, includin g Mississippi(238), Louisiana (1,577), Ohio(2), Kentucky(1), Flor ida(14), Alabama(2), and Georgia(2). </li></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><li>-It affected the economy and the government of our country. The national government spent $105 billion to help with reconstructions and repairs of affected states. </li></ul>

When did this happen? <ul><li>-Hurricane Katrina happened in 2005 between August 23rd and August 25th. </li></ul><ul><li>-Aug. 23rd-H.K. was developed at the Bahamas and passed the southern part of Florida. </li></ul><ul><li>-Aug. 25th-H.K. became a tropical storm after it landed between Aventura and Hallandale Beach in Florida. </li></ul><ul><li>-3 days after, the storm had intensified and reached a Category 5 status, which made it the strongest, deadliest storm that occured in the United States. </li></ul><ul><li>-This tropical storm passed through several states, including Texas and Mississippi, until its remnants were seen at the eastern region of Great Lakes on Aug. 31st. </li></ul>

What happened? <ul><li>> Hurricane Katrina was a massive hurricane in 2005 that destroyed thousands of peoples' homes and killed thousands of people. </li></ul><ul><li>> Hurricane Katrina hit multiple different states. That of which include: </li></ul><ul><li>          - Mississippi </li></ul><ul><li>           - Florida </li></ul><ul><li>           - Georgia </li></ul><ul><li>           - Alabama </li></ul><ul><li>  And more. </li></ul><ul><li>> People were spending $1,000's to help rebuild the damages. </li></ul>
