Basic Layout of Huawei OLT
Basic Layout
Chassis: bundled sales, not sold separately
MPU: generally double master, one for main and one for standby, SCUN, MCUD (MA5608T) are
common used
Power Plate: generally dual power, one for main and one for standby, PRTE (DC), MPWC (DC),
MPWD (AC) are common used
Upstream board: GICF, GICG, X2CS etc.
GPON service boards: GPBD, GPFD etc.
Software: generally has been installed inside the control board SCUN
Control board - SCUN (SCUL, SCUK, SCUH)
Function:
 Systematic control, switching and unified network management
 Simple routing protocol functions realization
External Interface:
 CON (RS-232 the serial port maintenance)
 ETH (10/100M Base-T the Ethernet port maintenance)
 ESC environmental monitoring port
 4 GE uplink optical interfaces
Frequently configure two, one for main and one for standby, OLT software is installed in the main
control board
GPON service board -GPBC/GPBD/GPFD
Main functions:
Huawei GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) access panel and terminal ONU (Optical
Network Unit) devices together to achieve the OLT function on GPON system, default with B +
SFP module (free), to replace the need to purchase C +

Differences of GPON board:

Difference between GPON intermediate B + and C + optical modules
 Both of the B + and C + are supported 1:128 spectroscopic, mainly affecting transmission
distance
 The higher splitting ratio is, the greater of the loss, and the shorter of the transmission
distance
 You can replace the customer GPBD of B + module into C +, but it should be charged
OLT module
Transmit power RX Sensitivity (Unit: dBm)
Class B+: 1.5~5 -28
Class C+: 3~7 -32
ONU module
Class B+: 0.5~5 -27
Class C+: 0.5~5 -30
Power board
 MA5680T, MA5683T, MA5600T, MA5603T power only supports DC (If you only AC input,
you need to buy an inverter to convert AC-48V into DC.)
 MA5608T, divided into two kinds, AC and DC.
Software
 The charges is based on each GPON port, from R (n) to R (n +1)
 Software issues related to compatibility between Huawei OLT and Huawei ONT, with some
compatibility version is better, and some relatively poor.
