O Mother of 4
O One just went to college
O Would be an octopus mother if I could
O 8 arms to protect them
O Learn to let go and let be
3. Meddling
O The always “fixing” or hiding from in the
past
O Keeps us from seeing what is there to
work with
O We do this when there is some part of us
that feels “less than” or not good enough.
O Divides us into parts and rejects some of
us.
4. Bruised Apple
O We are like a bruised apple, not every bite
is perfect
O Instead of throwing out the whole apple,
eat around it
O We do this with our lives
O We tend to discard all the good feelings
just because of the bruises we find.
5. We Become Vulnerable
O When you reject some part of you, or hide
from it because you’re scared of it or feel bad
about it, you create a resistance to it that
thickens it.
O We push away parts we dislike or reject
O Trying to preserve identity and ego
O We think that if we show our bruises people
will think less of us
O Rejecting true nature, what makes you
different and special
6. You are Already Perfect
O In your true nature
O Relax into your bruises
O Find and recognize
O Holding on to protect yourself from being
seen is the ultimate resistance to
accepting all of you.
7. Helpful Exercise
O Learn to explore your experience of
something that you may not like about
yourself.
O When something arises you do not like, take
15 minutes to allow it.
O Be aware of it with curiosity and interest
O Your “dislike” will reveal itself
O Take 10 minutes to think about the initial
resistance
O You will see how you normally react to parts of
yourself
