HPCL plans 150bn Raigad refinery
HPCL plans to invest around 150bn in setting up a 9mn tonne-a-year refinery on the west coast. The new refinery, likely to be
set up in Raigad district of Maharashtra, is expected to make up for the space constraint at its Mumbai refinery.
Neyveli Lignite mulls 2,000 MW supercritical plant in TN
Neyveli Lignite Corporation(NLC) wants to put up a 1,980 MW (3 units of 660 MW each) power plant in Tamil Nadu. If it
comes up, it will be NLC's first supercritical thermal power plant project.
Tata Power consortium bags Indonesia project (positive)
Tata Power in consortium with Origin Energy and PT Supraco Indonesia, been declared as the successful bidder for the Sorik
Marapi geothermal project in northern Sumatra, Indonesia. The three companies will conduct a detailed exploration
programme over the next 18 months. The expected commercial operation date for the project is June 2015.
Cipla to buy 25% in S Africa unit (positive)
Cipla is looking to acquire around 25% in the manufacturing division of Cipla Medpro. The deal size could not be ascertained.
Petronet plans Rs23bn expansion at LNG terminal
Petronet LNG Ltd plans to invest Rs23bn to install two more storage tanks at its LNG receiving and regasification terminal at
Dahej in Gujarat. The Dahej terminal has four tanks and with the addition of two storage tanks, the total capacity will go up to
15 million tonne per annum (mtpa) from 10 mtpa at present.
GAIL-Reliance Ind pact to market D6 gas inoperative
The marketing agreement between GAIL (India) Ltd and Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) to sell D6 gas stands inoperative due to

After expanding at the fastest pace in two years in June,
the services sector growth decelerated in July, as the flow US initial jobless claims for the week ended Aug 28 came
