Be Inspired…
Marks & Spencer, Aylesbury
The Marks & Spencer team in Aylesbury fundraised hard for
FNHC as part of its ‘Charity of the Year’ nomination. The team
and their customers took part in a number of fundraising
activities, from in-store raffles, tombola competitions, a
bag-packing fundraiser; to a team walk from the Aylesbury
High Street Charity shop to the Hospice, managing to raise an
amazing £8,450 for Florence Nightingale Hospice.
The Share Centre
Aylesbury-based, The Share Centre, presented £2,000 to
Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity as part of a ‘Charity of
the year Partnership’– money raised from staff fundraisers
held throughout the year.
Employees took part in fundraising activities including casual dress
‘themed’ days, raffles, cake sales – and even a sky diving event!
Donate your time
Each year corporate groups donate their time to support various
events, helping to set up and take down the events, manning
stalls or packing bags. This is a great way to get out of the office
and use your skills to help support your local community.

2. Why Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity?
Support your local community by supporting Florence
Nightingale Hospice Charity
Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity is a local charity that
people can relate to. Many of your staff, customers,
shareholders and members will experience the death of
someone close to them from a life-limiting or terminal illness
such as cancer, and may need the specialist care and support
which Florence Nightingale Hospice offers.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) offers real credibility to
your company and gains support from your customers.
Working with us can improve how customers view your
brand. By linking your company name with Florence
Nightingale Hospice Charity, you will be associated with an
organisation known for its support and funding of local
Hospice services and excellence in clinical care and
education.
We rely on the incredible generosity and support of our
corporate partners to help keep both in-patient and at-home
services running locally, which costs Florence Nightingale
Hospice Charity over £650,000 each year to fund.
Your support is vital in enabling us to provide this service,
free of charge. By supporting Florence Nightingale Hospice
Charity you and your employees will make a real difference
to the lives of those in your local community and help us
plan for future services.
How we can work together
Be a Proud Sponsor. We have some amazing events from our
Midnight Walk to our annual Beer Festival.
Enter a team. Get your staff involved in a range of challenges
from our Colour Rush to skydives and marathons! If you run a
matched giving scheme, you will really spur your employees on.
Give a donation or a gift in kind. Donate or shop with
Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity Shops. If you have any
end of season stock that you can no longer sell or equipment
that you no longer need why not donate it to Florence
Nightingale Hospice Charity shops. We sell fashion, books,
furniture or can even use it at some of our fundraising events.
We can arrange collections from your offices and will
recognise your donations on our social media pages.
Volunteering. Why not join us and make a difference
volunteering in our stores, at one of our many fundraising
events or offer a few hours of professional skills. Even a few
hours can make a difference and provides you with the
opportunity to get out of your office and use your skills to
help the local community.
Hold an event of your own. From dress down days to
holding a bake off, getting behind your own event can be
one of the most rewarding things to do as well as one of the
most fun and is a great way of team building.
Payroll Giving. Payroll giving is an easy way to give money to
Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity. By your employees
donating a small amount each month from their pay cheque,
they are not only helping others, but giving in a tax efficient way.
Regular Giving. Regular giving not only helps to fund the
vital work that the Hospice does but also helps the Hospice
to plan future care with a little more confidence.
Regular giving also enables you to make a difference in a
way that fits in with your personal budget; you can increase,
decrease or cancel your regular gift at any time.
Recycling. Old mobile phones, printer cartridges, jewellery,
foreign coinage and stamps will all help raise funds and help
the environment to.
Make us your Charity of the Year and ensure
the continued funding of Hospice Care for local
families in Bucks, Beds and Oxon.
Reasons to get involved:
Tax Benefits. Under the gift aid scheme businesses can
obtain tax relief when they give money, whether as a one off
or a regular payment.
Advertising and PR opportunities. Our marketing team will
work with you to ensure that you get the exposure that you
want for your commitment to fundraising for the charity.
These can include press releases sent to community
publications, so make sure you let us know when you are
planning an event.
Facebook and Twitter are tools used by Florence Nightingale
Hospice Charity to help promote upcoming events to our
current supporters. We also use it to keep the community up
to date on how you are supporting us.
A supportive Fundraising Team. At Florence Nightingale
Hospice Charity, we have a team that will support you in
your fundraising efforts. We have materials, local contacts
and experience that will help make your fundraising easy
and fun.
Staff Involvement, motivation and training. Fundraising and
volunteering promotes team spirit amongst staff and helps
individuals learn new skills and gain confidence in a friendly
and supportive environment.
