3. Tekes – Finep MoU
The general objective of this MoU is to develop and strengthen scientific,
technological and industrial cooperation between Finland and Brazil in the areas of
renewable energy, information and communication technologies (ICT) ,
microelectronics, and marine and ship building technologies
The objective is to promote co-operation between innovative Finnish and Brazilian
companies
The objective is also to establish cross-border value networks involving
companies and research institutes both from Finland and Brazil.
Main activities planned:
• Providing information about the investment and funding opportunities, partnering,
networking and innovation landscape for the innovative enterprises from Brazil and
Finland planning to co-operate
• Organizing events and workshops to support partnering and match-making
• Supporting the cooperative projects in accordance with each Funding Agency’s own
funding rules and the availability of funds and resources.

Social responsibility of companies is a very important issue in Brazil
Brazilian companies are not used to work with academics
Team Finland Foresight work is urgently needed on Latin America,
Brazil: scenarios, trends, and business intelligence information
A Guide book for SMEs is needed: what will you encounter when
going into Brazilian market (legislation, regulation, business culture)
Urban development is not so much an issue related to energy in
Brazil, but to traffic, logistics & waste management
