Our Customer
One of the pioneers in distributing commercial
cleaning supplies for the janitorial supply indus-
try. They have partnered with quality manufac-
turers from the UK, Europe, US and Asia to pur-
chase directly from the manufacturer in order
to maintain high quality products at low prices.
Challenges
Our customer increased their supplier base to
10 fold during the last 3 years and their on-
line portal couldn’t support the rapid increase
in the number of product listings. Moreover,
they purchased a 3rd party inventory system
and integrating that with suppliers through
online had become cumbersome task for our
customer. To manage the product listing, In-
ventory system and to upgrade the platform
to a newer version , our customer started
evaluating offshore vendors who can address
their end to end e-commerce challenges:
Migrate the existing online portal to a newer
updated platform
Seamless integration with the 3rd party in-
ventory systems and suppliers database
Scalable in terms of product listings with
multiple portfolios
Improve the customer revenue by 2X within
1 year with effective and ROI driven digital
marketing channels
During the vendor evaluation process, Expe-
dUx demonstrated the capabilities in terms of
technical acumen (50+ years of experience in
core e-commerce platforms) & digital market-
ing (dedicated Digital marketing services for
e-retailing space) as a value proposition. Our
customer was impressed with Expedux’s urge
in making a difference in e-commerce/ e-tail-
ing space and chose to offer the contract to us.

Our Approach
ExpedUx’s digital retailing technical team
conducted a preliminary study around the
technical challenges and planned to go with
the 3 phased approach.
Phase 1 (8 weeks):
•	 Framework: Expeduxevaluated various
e-commerce platforms like Magento, Drupal
commerce, WooCommerce and Zencart and
shortlisted Magento and WooCommerce for
the final evaluation. We performed a 2 week
pilot work to validate the feasibility, scal-
ability and 3rd party integration options and
finally chose to go with Magento due to its
superior scalability and armory of 3rd party
integration plug-ins.
•	 Migration:  Expedux spanned the mi-
gration work in 3 weeks to perform seamless
integration with legacy and newer platform
without affecting the business and suppliers
collaboration. Also we have carried out an
important task of rebuilding their entire web-
site with cutting edge technologies (Mobile
Responsive/ HTML5/Infinite product listings)
and prepared ourselves for the phase 2 to ex-
tend the portal to connect with the 3rd party
inventory system.
Phase 2 (4 weeks):
Expedux analyzed the technical possibilities
and identified that the inventory system had
the API possibility to communicate with exter-
nal applications.We customized the Magento
Framework to integrate with their backend
inventory system seamlessly through internal
Zend Framework. This meant that everything
could be controlled by the backend user.
This enabled the customer to maintain their
e-commerce portal through common inven-
tory system and they had the new possibility
to extend their business in multiple product
types.

Phase 3 (4 weeks)

In this content centric, socially driven, digi-
talized world, social media channels play a
prominent role and judiciously utilizing them
can take the business to a different height. Ex-
pedux’s marketing team evaluated40+ market-
ing and delivery channels that could be rightly
fitted to customer’s space and competitive
landscape. After careful evaluation of various
options, Expedux recommended and imple-
