  • Laminated Glass
  • What is Laminated Glass ? Laminated glass is a type of safety glass that holds together when shattered. In the event of breaking, it is held in place by an interlayer, typically of polyvinyl butyral (PVB), between its two or more layers of glass. The interlayer keeps the layers of glass bonded even when broken, and its high strength prevents the glass from breaking up into large sharp pieces.
  • The high strength and unique design of laminated glass prevents it from shattering into large shards when broken. It is made from two or more sheets of glass bonded together with a flexible interlayer. Laminated glass is your best option for security in the home. It generally takes two blows to break laminated glass with several further blows to create a hole. In contrast, toughened glass can be accessed with a single blow of a hammer.
  • Types of laminated glass  Laminated safety glass  Laminated security glass  Manual attack resistant laminated glass  Bullet-resistant laminated glass  Blast-resistant laminated glass  Fire resistant laminated glass  Laminated glass with fire resistant properties  Solar control laminated glass
  • Benefits of Laminated Glass  Safety & Security  Sound Reduction  Solar Energy Control  UV Control  Weather/Natural Disasters  Durability  Design Versatility  Installation Ease and Low Visible Distortion
  • FGI group has a strong history of specialisation in safety glass and offers the most advanced lamination technologies and capabilities. FGI has advanced customised laminating equipment and can provide a full range of annealed or toughened laminated glass in Clear, Tinted, Reflective, Low Iron, Matlucent Etched, Mirrored, Textured, Colorsmart, Thermocolour and KlymetShield Low E combinations.
  • Laminated Glass is made up of two or more layers of glass permanently bonded together with an interlayer via a controlled, highly pressurised and industrial heating process. The lamination process results in the glass panels holding together in the event of breakage, reducing the risk of harm. Laminated Glass is classified as Grade A Safety Glass. There are several laminated glass types manufactured using different glass and interlay options that produce a variety of strength and security requirements.
