Women’s tennis to be revolutionised by an app
1.
2. Female tennis players could get a helping hand in the tense
final sets of matches, from a new programme developed for
the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA).
On-court coaching sessions could be delivered through real-time
game analytics on a tablet and it could be introduced as
of next year.
What’s this all about?
3. SAP’s first serve
SAP has developed a mobile based app that will allow players
and coaches to view what’s happening during the match in real
time, with only a 15 second delay.
The programme will record data, such as serve direction and
shot placement, across an entire season.
Fans will also have access during matches to some of the
statistics available, although the WTA is still working on the
details of that access.

Professionals (ATP), or any of the grand slams have decided
to pick up. Instead, they continue to ban coaching during
matches.
In-game data analysis is on the increase in the world of sport,
we wonder who will try it next….
