4. Standardize the process to consider requests for events not
included in the CVB budget
Applications submitted to CVB for evaluation of requests and
provides recommendation to City to fund or not
CVB to evaluate on basis if funds will likely improve success
of event and will positively impact local hotel industry
City then considers CVB recommendation to fund or not
HOT funds for these Event Grants remain in City budget and
disbursed on event basis
5. Sponsoring organization of event must be tax-exempt
Completed application submitted to CVB no later
than 120 days prior to event
90 days is still being evaluated
If funds are for advertisement, focus is to target
visitors greater than a 60 mile radius from B-CS
6. CVB to review and give prior approval of marketing
and promotional materials to be eligible for HOT
funding
Responsibility of applicant to monitor number of
event guests staying in B-CS hotels;
CVB to oversee and assist with this documentation
City staff to approve smaller CVB recommended
requests, City Council to approve larger requests
(i.e. Blinn Bowl)
7. Council direct staff to complete preparation of
necessary policies, procedures, and forms to
implement HOT Event Grant Funding Program
