This document discusses data journalism techniques taught in week 4 such as data mashing and summarization. Students learned to use Excel functions like VLOOKUP to merge datasets and create pivot tables to cross tabulate and summarize crime statistics from Ireland. Exercises involved calculating percentage crime changes between years and crime rates across counties using population statistics.
