Would you rather contact customer service… or eat last year’s fruitcake? According to a survey conducted by Aspect, three out of four consumers (74 percent) said, “Pass me a fork.” To the vast majority, customer service feels like more of a hassle around the holidays than at any other time of the year. And that’s not all – many are planning to avoid the frustration altogether by giving cash instead of wrapping gifts. That means poor customer service is likely to hurt holiday sales unless businesses can counteract this “holiday service stigma” by offering consistent, exceptional customer experiences through every channel, every day of the year.
