6. SOUNDS DIFFICULT
Conventional Hi-Fi has a defined position, or “sweet-spot,” where the sound is optimal for
the listener. This position is where the listener has the same distance to the left and to the
right speaker. Set-up guides often include diagrams, illustrating how speakers have to be
placed precisely in order to create a stereo sound image. They even provide mathemati-
cal formulae* for measuring precisely where various parts of the system should be relative to
walls and ceilings, all to create the stereo “sweet spot” at the axis of an imaginary triangle.
However, many conventional Hi-Fi owners, even with the most expensive gear, often don’t
hear proper stereo imaging because they usually hear it “off-axis.” Even if they obey the
placement formulae and completely rearrange the room to optimize the listening position,
they are off-axis the moment they get up and move around in the room.
But today, not everyone is content to sit tight in one place in obeisance to a preordained
music-listening ritual.
* Where x is the distance from the side wall to the center of the speaker and y is the distance from the back
wall to the center of the woofer. 1) x = (0.277) × (room width), y = (0.450) × (room width). If this puts the
speakers too far out into the listening room use x = (0.277) × room width, y = (0.353) × room width.
2) x = (0.276) × (room width), y = (0.618) × (ceiling height).

8. SIMPLICITY SOUNDS BETTER
Geneva Sound Systems are designed and engineered for simplicity, style – and great
sound. They project a “striking” (Sound & Vision) stereo image with their patented tech-
nology. No matter where the listener is in the room, the Geneva system projects a solid
three-dimensional sound image that is high, wide and deep. “Even when I am seated
approximately 70 degrees off-axis to the unit, it delivers an expansive soundstage and
terrific stereo separation,” says The Robb Report.
As illustrated, Geneva Sound Systems project a stereo image in a more uniform manner
throughout the whole room, thus avoiding the process of determining an optimal sweet
spot. Wherever the listener is in the room, with Geneva Sound System, the distance to
the right and to the left speaker is the same, thus maintaining a good stereo image
throughout a room.
Geneva Sound Systems allow the listener to get up and move around the room, to enjoy
a system that is easy to use and versatile. Geneva Sound Systems are a family of products,
with different sizes and finishing options, that fit into your room design and your lifestyle.
Unlike the constraints of conventional stereo, Geneva Sound Systems don’t require you
to rearrange your life around your sound system.

10. HAND-CRAFTED
Geneva cabinetry is high quality furniture. The wood cabinets are made by hand. Each
one takes more than a week to complete. The woodworkers and painters take hundreds
of steps, with meticulous attention to detail.
The genuine American walnut veneer is hand-sanded. The lacquer is applied by hand.
There are up to eight layers of high-grade piano lacquer applied to each gloss finish. It’s why
WIRED magazine hailed Geneva on its debut as “a Steinway” giving the iPod generation
quality and sound on the scale of a grand piano.
The wood cabinets are hand-buffed. Each one is hand-polished. It’s a dedication to innova-
tion and quality craftsmanship, so Geneva products will be enjoyed for years to come.

14. ALL-IN-ONE
Every Geneva Sound System has dedicated iPod/iPhone connectivity – and much more.
Geneva Lab is known as the inventor of high fidelity for the iPod – which had only been
served by cheap peripheral speakers. The result is “absolutely brilliant,” says the UK’s
Record Collector magazine. “Geneva is not just the only dock here to be able to drive a
large room, it also lifts the iPod into the realms of Hi-Fi status. An ambition I always
thought, frankly, laughable – until now.”
But true Hi-Fi systems offer versatility, more than a single function. All models ship with a
built-in digital FM radio tuner and included external antenna for superior signal capture.
The larger models with built-in CD player use a sophisticated damping system to mini-
mize distortion, and can play commercial CDs and recordable discs of MP3 or most
other common file types.
The optional stand is made of heavy-gauge aluminum with a brushed finish.
