Apple revealed iOS 8, its newest operating system at its annual worldwide developers' conference (WWDC), calling it the biggest iOS release since the launch of the App Store. This OS contains new features which suggest a renewed interest in lifestyle integration, alongside multitasking and faster, easier sharing. Here are the main features you need to know about.

2. iOS 8 is the eighth major release of the iOS mobile operating system
designed by Apple Inc. as the successor to iOS 7. It was announced at the
company's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on June 2, 2014.

3. Photos
As photo collections grow, so does the desire to store them all safely and
still access them whenever and wherever. That’s where the new Photos app
and the new iCloud Photo Library come in.

4. Messages
In iOS 8, Messages has fun, useful, even surprising features that will change
the way you think about messaging. Users can send audio and video
messages by holding down the record button.

5. Design
iOS 8 has the same design as iOS 7, however, there are a few minor changes
such as added transparency and faster animation effects. The multitasking
screen now shows a list of recently called and favourited contacts.

6. Keyboard
iOS 8 brings the biggest changes to the keyboard since the very first iPhone.
Now you can tap to choose the perfect suggestion for your next word. And
for the first time, third-party keyboards will be available.

7. Family Sharing
Family Sharing is a new way to bring harmony to your family’s digital life.
Up to six people in your family can share purchases from iTunes, iBooks,
and the App Store without sharing accounts.

8. iCloud Drive
This feature allows users to store all presentations, spreadsheets, PDFs,
images, and any other kind of document in iCloud and access them from
your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, or PC.

9. Health
The Health app gives you an easy-to-read dashboard of your health and
fitness data. The new tool for developers called HealthKit, which allows
the incredible health & fitness apps to work together for you.

10. Continuity
Continuity allows users to share e-mails and websites over Wi-Fi. This
feature also allows users to reply to text messages and answer phone calls
from their iPhone on their Mac or iPad.

11. Spotlight
Spotlight now gives you suggestions from Wikipedia entries, places nearby,
trending news, and more. It’s even smart enough to recognize context and
location to offer you the most relevant information.

12. Touch ID
For the first time, you’ll have the option of using Touch ID to sign in to
third-party apps — there’s no need to enter a password. Your fingerprint
data is protected and is never accessed by iOS or other apps.
