Dedicated to my Dad
Enjoying Heaven
1921 ~ 2004
Suddenly I awoke at 2:15 in the morning… and I knew in my spirit that my Dad had passed from
this life and into Heaven…
Then the phone jangled me awake five minutes later from my brother, Tom. “Ed… Dad just died
five minutes ago.” His voice trailed away.
When I was sixteen, Dad ridiculed my new-found love for God. Now after all those years I was
fifty-nine years old and listening to his final breathing, something the doctors call the “death rattle.”
From my warm bed I rushed to Dad’s bedside, in Auburn, California, a town thirty-five miles
from Sacramento.
“Mister Gaulden is in room One-Forty-Seven, Sir,” the nurse replied to my question of where is
he. As I opened the door to his room, there seemed to be a party atmosphere amongst relatives and
nurses.
Someone said, above the merry gathering, “Let’s go out for coffee and let Ed have some private
time with Dad.”
The room emptied of people. Nurses, brothers and sisters, his wife, and the curious left Dad and I
to be alone. The room became eerily quiet. I sat down and held Dad’s cold and limp hand, a wrinkled
and spotted hand. It was a hand that had practiced medicine for nearly fifty-five years and had helped
countless patients.
“Dad,” I began, not knowing exactly what to say to a dying person. “Today you will go into
eternity.”
With a soft and quiet voice, I told him of God’s love toward him. “Dad, believe that Jesus died
for you on the cross.”
With his irregular breath rattling like little stones rolling over a washboard, he listened to me tell
of the time when an angel led me on an escorted trip into Heaven and back.
I finished what I needed to tell him. For a moment, his harsh breathing stopped and changed to a
more relaxed respiration. Raising his arms above his head, he “gurgled” loudly toward an unseen
someone or something. His uncontrolled arms plopped back to his side. His breath softened, becoming
more satisfied, quieter, a contented “gurgle.”
My last words to Dad were, “I’ll see you in Heaven, Dad.”
Forward
The 'adventure' started one day as I was thinking how to start a fiction story using Heaven as the
main stage. You know - bright lights, angels, and wonderful people living in pleasant villages. That
was the start of an adventure that would be, not as a book-length story, but sixty pages of handwritten
wonder. Going to Heaven had stolen my breath. It was that kind of wonder!
It was a dark and stormy night. I sat at my electronics worktable. A tired old radio, its lights
glowing yellow, hissed in the background. With its covers off, tentacles of wires fed pulsing test
equipment. At the same time, I was studying between several books, two of which were the Bible and
a concordance. The computer, an ancient stone tablet by today’s standards hummed, ready for my
fingers to tap upon its ever-waiting keyboard. Its green cursor blinked patiently upon the computer’s
black screen monitor.
Several sounds formed a kind of background white noise that evening. An FM radio played
classical music, my ham radio crackled with a fluttery telegraph message between two distant ham
radio operators, and rain beat hard upon the window facing the street.
I was studying the impossible: Heaven.
You see, it really was a dark and stormy night!
Because the blood of Jesus had saved me, Heaven was not a foreign word, but a foreign place.
The Bible says we are sojourners on this Earth, living in these mortal bodies for a short time. After
death, Heaven Is for the saved. And a glimpse of Heaven Is what this short story is all about.
Because Heaven was a foreign place, a foreign land unknown to me except for the passages
written in the Bible, I wanted to visit so I could get a firsthand knowledge of Heaven.
The classical music played. The fluttery telegraph messages faded in and out of the short wave
static. A vicious rainstorm beat hard upon my window, a freezing storm that had slipped down from
Alaska. Sitting back in my chair, I closed my eyes and prayed to the Lord about seeing Heaven.
“Lord, you have prompted me to write about Heaven. Allow me to see it first-hand. Let me
experience Heaven’s colors, water, air, and flowers and trees. Thank you God. Amen.”
God answered that prayer.
I first recorded this visitation to Heaven during January 1991 and gave about 30 copies to friends
and relatives. Everyone gave it a rave review. However I believe the readers regarded me from the
corners of their eyes, askance, with great suspicion.
They would say, “Like, umm, dude, no one goes to Heaven while still living, right?”
In February 2010, I found my original manuscript, crinkled beneath a bunch of old books inside a
ratty old cardboard box. When I started reading, it a flood of memories returned. Thus, I retyped the
entire manuscript. I corrected my grammar errors, clarified ambiguities, completed full sentences, and
placed the commas where they should belong. I believe it is now ready for the world… again. I believe
this present world’s time is short and this story may give hope and comfort that Heaven Is a very, very
joyful and genuine place.
Please read the story with an open mind, comparing it to scripture. I created the artwork using
Photoshop and I think that the illustrations are, well, “cheesy.” Still they convey some of what I saw
and how the Lord wanted me to express Heaven using words.
As you read, stop, close your eyes, and imagine what I was trying to convey. Form a mental
picture. That should aid in understanding Heaven, a world that is indescribable.
What is interesting to me is that at any time of the day or night I can remember the entire
experience down to its smallest detail. Now, imagine, can you remember the tiny details of last night’s
dream, never mind the one you had twenty-one years ago, and right down to the minutest detail. I
can’t. But I know what I experienced. This was not a dream. Emphatically, this is my true story, of
what God allowed me to see what Heaven Is.
May the Lord bless you as you read this travelogue of my visit to Heaven. And when you finish
pass this book along to others.

Heaven Is Not Science Fiction
Heaven Is joyful.
Heaven Is not fiction.
Heaven Is a huge mansion.
Heaven Is a place to live with God
forever.
Heaven Is indescribable.
Heaven Is awesome.
Heaven Is not on Earth.
Heaven Is MORE than anything you can imagine!
God answered my prayer, resulting in a short visit through Heaven.
Heaven Is not science fiction, nor is it harp-playing on fluffy white clouds. The earth-bound
human intellect cannot ever hope to understand all that Heaven will be.
Passing from this world into eternity is like being a small seed. When we pass into eternity, we
will grow as a beautiful flower. Recall that a squirmy worm transforms itself into a beautiful butterfly.
Our present state is similar to a seed that God tends with great care. He is watering us and feeding our
souls. Upon death, we will sprout forth and grow throughout eternity, growing beautiful, ever
becoming like Christ. As that crawling caterpillar transforms itself a butterfly, so also does the soul of
a Christian passing from this world into the next world.
My visit to Heaven was not, to the best of my knowledge, a near death experience, or NDE as the
phenomenon is termed.
My car did not crash. My airplane did not fall from the sky. My yacht did not sink and I drowned.
I did not need to die to enjoy what happened. I did not float above doctors and nurses trying to save
me from death. No, none of that.
I went to bed at my normal time on a Saturday night. In the small hours of the night, an angel
awoke me. As a gentle docent, he led me and talked with me while on a tour of Heaven. No, I do not
know his name! When it was over, the angel returned me to my body on Sunday morning.
Other than the dedication to my Dad, you will not be bored about my family life or other
personal things in my life.
So many stories I have read on this subject spend hundreds of pages on the person’s life, but are
short on description of what they saw and heard while being where Heaven Is.
I offer, you my dear reader, two things: A dream that God gave to me in 1977 and my 1991 trip
to where Heaven Is.
Light Leaks Beneath The Door
What is on the other side of the door of death? Do you think that God would let us peek through a
door and take in the wonders of Heaven? What are some of the forbidden mysteries in Heaven that the
people destined to go there will experience?
Follow me and together you will get a glimpse into eternity, a place prepared for those who love
God. The Lord allowed me to see a beautiful and joyful place and I wish to share it with you. It is
something like seeing light from beneath a closed door.
We can only imagine what lies on the other side. Only our senses comprehend motion and sound
within, yet we cannot see or hear clearly. We can see a blazing light beneath the door’s threshold. The
light we see on our side of the door paints a bright blur of light, an unfocused light. Moreover, we
cannot see what causes such brilliant light.
The Apostle Paul wrote this about seeing into Heaven,
1st Corinthians 13:12 says:
“Now we see a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know
in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am known.”
The Lord prompted me to use Heaven as a central theme in a story. I prayed about various stories
that popped into my mind. Each story I tried writing withered into nothingness. Rather, the Lord
would say to me, “No, not stories like that.”
One evening the Lord whispered to my spirit.
“Write about Heaven,” the small voice urged.
God had prepared my mind and spirit for several weeks in order to help me grasp the meaning,
importance, and reality of Heaven.
Yet, I countered the voice, replying “But I know very little about Heaven.”
Having the precious gift of God allowing me to visit Heaven the experience I had twenty-two
years ago has remained locked and imprinted on my memory.
Heaven Is A Glorious Mansion
In the spring of 1977, God gave me curious dream about Heaven. I hid the details in my heart all
these years. I was careful never to tell anyone about it, lest others would laugh at me.
That spring dream and my 1991 experience is what I will describe to you. They go together like a
hand inside a glove.
In 2011, God told me, “It is time to tell people what you have seen in Heaven. You have given
your writing talent for me to use. You volunteered, and now write about it, Ed.”
People have dreams, visions, and actual experiences. I believe that my 1991 experience in
Heaven was not a dream. People have written much about dreams. Dreams are a series of visual
images while a person sleeps or is inattentive, like daydreaming. A vision is similar to a dream.‐
Visions are a divine revelation and can be experienced while asleep or awake. Visions are like
watching the television. You see what is going on in a video, but you do not partake in what is
happening through the television.
Dreams and visions fade, but reality stays in the mind.
For example, suppose you are watching television and there is a documentary about the wildlife
of a beautiful valley. You watch the plants and other living things on the screen. You cannot feel them,
nor can you touch them. You see the scenes. In stereo, you hear birds singing and the gurgling flow of
water in a stream. You may see the effects of wind, yet not feel the wind, cool or warm, on your skin.
Although, you can hear the sounds, you receive the sound through a mechanical speaker from the
television. You are watching, but not participating.
I must tell you about that dream I had in the spring of 1977. In the small hours of the morning I
awakened, startled. Lying motionless in bed, I wondered about the dream that had awakened me. I
prayed, “Lord, what did you do to me?’ The Lord answered back, “I gave you a dream. Savor and
cherish what you just dreamed.”
What I dreamt was a two-color picture of gold and black. The angel stood to my left, almost but
not quite in my peripheral vision area.
The angel did not show his face, but I saw his hand, palm up, pointing toward a magnificent
building with many different roofing styles. The building was a dazzling bright gold color. The sky
was starless, velvet black. The walls and various rooflines of the building shined a bright golden.
The angel stood tall and strong, yet quiet, allowing me to take in the black sky and gold house.
Then my eyes moved toward the left. There was a tower topped with a steep roof. I saw the angel
better and his wings. Gesturing, He turned up his palm.
Above, high in the tower, the black sky peeked through a rectangular window at the top of the
tower. To the right of the tower, but lower, an awesome golden light played upon a structure topped
with multiple roof designs at varying heights.
Abruptly, the scene reversed. The golden building became black as the sky was, and the sky took
on the golden blaze that the house had been.
Standing, I marveled that the sky blazed golden, like a beautiful earth-type sunset. The building
took on the blackness like that of the sky. Through the tower windows, the golden light shined as if the
tower was a lighthouse.
I looked at the angel and asked, “What am I seeing?”
With a broad sweep of his hand from one end of the building to the other, he answered, “All this
will be yours, soon.”
Continuing to dream, I stood amazed, awestruck, and absorbing what the angel was showing me.
Just as I turned to see what the angel looked like, I awoke.
So, what did I see? Jesus said, in -
John 14:2:
“In my Father’s house are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to
prepare a place for you.”
I did not know it then, but now I believe that God let me see a glorified, one-dimensional view of
my future mansion in Heaven! I did not see any detail of the building. I saw only the outline of a
building with different rooflines, alternating in black and gold. Why me? I do not know. Why does
God do the things he does? God has His own purposes. His ways are not our ways. Since that dream, I
have been interested in Heaven.
It is interesting to me that because this was a dream, I do not remember it to this day in July
2013. Today I can close my eyes and try as I may there is no remembrance of that dream.
The dream is recounted here because a day or so following the dream, I agonized describing it on
a lined piece of spiral bound notebook paper. The dream’s description survived several house moves.
After writing about my visit to heaven, I included it in the original 1991 manuscript of visiting
Heaven.
One more tidbit: I associate the dream with a serious injury to my spine when I slid off a roof.
My actual visit to Heaven is also associated with a another serious injury to my spine, seven
months later in 1991.
The Bible says –
Acts 2:17:
“And it shall come to pass in the last days, said the God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon
all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see
visions, and your old men shall dream dreams…”
And in Daniel 2:28:
“…there is a God in Heaven that reveals secrets…”
I shared that dream about the beautiful mansion. I hid the dream, inside a closet, deep in my
heart, cherishing it as a rare jewel.
Drawing 1: With a broad sweep of his hand, from one end of the building to the other, he answered, “All this will be yours,
soon.”
The Unexpected Prayer
I have had debates of what happened to me on Super Bowl day, Sunday, January 27, 1991. Some
people say to me that I had a dream. I counter and say that God gave me a unique gift, a very real
experience.
Dreams fade. The angel and the golden house faded. I struggled to remember it so I could
describe it on paper just a few days later.
But - real experiences stay in your memory!
I think you will agree that what I am about to describe to you is exciting and quite remarkable.
Of course, something like this defies a logical explanation. It defies the Educated Guess, the Master’s
Degree assumptions, and the Ph.D.’s indisputable statements sustained by supreme education.
You may not agree with what I write. But, remember, I say God gave me a gift that I will never
forget. I saw what I saw. I touched what I touched. Sweet aromas filled my nose. YOU, the reader, did
not experience this. I did. I must share it, because I am still excited about visiting Heaven, because
Heaven Is!
It was my experience and mine to share. If you disagree, then that is your personal decision.
Heaven Is where I traveled to. Reading my story is to those who wish to read about what God gave as a
unique gift.
I offer my dream and experience to those who have, or are searching for, that eternal hope and
desire that Heaven will be a place they will someday rest in, serve the Lord, and enjoy life as God
designed we human beings to co-habit with God, forever.
So, believe it or not, here is what I saw:
It was a panoramic view of the whole of God’s home. Heaven Is glorious and marvelous!
Glorious and marvelous are such dull and feeble words to describe Heaven. Exciting adjectives, such
as “glorious” and “marvelous,” are as dreary as a dark cloudy day when describing the bright wonders
I saw in Heaven. In a sense, the entire event was for all practical intent and purpose was –
indescribable!
After viewing the outside of Heaven I was escorted to the inside, and was placed onto Paradise.
Paradise is a beautiful and peaceful place. Heaven Is a joyful place. Within this joyful place, I was to
learn that everything desires to make a joyful noise to the Lord, everything!
Human language is not capable of describing what Heaven Is. The languages of all Earthlings are
inadequate to describe God’s home. You may think English has many wonderful words that express
the wonders of Heaven. God’s Word says in –
1 Corinthians 2:9:
“But as it is written, the eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither has it entered into the
heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love Him.”
The book of Isaiah says pretty much the same thing.
Isaiah 64:4 -
For since the beginning of the world no one has not heard, nor perceived by the ear,
neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that wait for
him.
And I agree what Paul and Isaiah wrote, and that is Heaven Is indescribable.
Consider this. How many words would you use to describe your morning coffee cup? In one of
my college writing classes, the instructor asked us to describe her coffee cup. It rested, steaming near
the edge of her desk. One student used two pages to describe that cup! Most of the students, me
included, described it with a paragraph or two, using less than a half sheet of lined notebook paper.
There was no grade. The writing exercise was to show us just how difficult it is to describe an
everyday, mundane object, ha! Let alone the mysteries of Heaven.
For just a short time, God allowed me to visit Heaven. The sounds, the sights, the smells, and the
things I touched, and the beauty I saw and experienced was overwhelming. After returning to earth
from where Heaven Is, I found it is a kingdom, a joyful place, which no physical human can describe
with mere words, verbal or written. The English language cannot fully describe Heaven. Neither can
we understand the infinite love of God toward us.
When my daughter was seven years old, she had no knowledge of higher math, accounting, and
economics. However, she could count to one hundred and could add and subtract small numbers. She
had a rudimentary knowledge of numbers. A schoolteacher would not be able to communicate to her
the economic reality of “guns versus butter.” At that stage in her life, she did not need that kind of
knowledge.
Try explaining the marvels we enjoy here in the industrialized world to someone living in a
remote part of the world. The man may know about his favorite footpaths, hunting, hand-pumped well
water, and fire for cooking food. He would not understand what we enjoy in western society. His
language would not have the necessary words and expressions to understand superhighways,
electricity, and fast food restaurants. And what about the phrase, “Pre-heat the oven to three hundred
fifty degrees, or gas-mark 4.”
With these examples in mind, I will try to describe what I saw. While I saw much, I know God
only allowed me see a tiny piece of what Heaven Is.
God answered my prayer exactly! Prayer works! Our Father loves to answer prayers.
If a spaceship placed a little green being in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, bobbing in a
rowboat, they would describe the Earth in this manner: “The Earth is made up of salt water,
sometimes calm and sometimes rough. Its air smells of salt. The sky is sometimes blue and at times
cloudy. When the clouds become dark, rain falls, diluting the salt of the ocean.” That would be a
myopic description of the Earth.
In similar fashion an angel led me to several places in Heaven, and of course I did not see all of
Heaven. From my standpoint, my knowledge of Heaven is also myopic.
Another question that may be burning in your mind is, “Why him? Why this guy? Is he just
trying to sell a wild story for a few dollars?”
Those are three good questions, my friend. My answer is, I wanted to know what Heaven looked
like. I prayed and God honored that prayer!
I believe God is excited about Heaven. He’s excited about us living with Him. Have you ever had
a secret? How many people did you give clues about that secret? Listen. Our redemption is drawing
near and Jesus will soon return. Get ready to enjoy eternal life!
There is a picture of Jesus returning for his bride –
Song of Solomon, verse 2:8:
“The voice of my beloved! Behold, he comes leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon
the hills.”
What a picture of absolute joy, Jesus, so happy, so thrilled to be coming for his bride!
The word “heaven” appears 582 times in the 1611 King James Version of the Bible. I searched
the many verses of the Bible concerning Heaven and when I had finished, I said to myself, wow! I can
hardly wait to see this place.
Then a supernatural thought came to me. My thought was jovial, spoof-like! The thought was as
if someone had come up to me at a party, holding a Pepsi. “Hi, my name is Mr. Thought,” he said.
“Mind if I sit down and talk?”
Mr. Thought and I get to talking about Heaven. Finally, Mr. Thought says, “Hey, Ed. I have a
suggestion.”
“You do? What?” I ask him, my eyes large and wondering.
“Well… just pray and ask God to let you see what Heaven Is like – you know, first hand. Think
of it as asking the Lord to give you a personal guided tour.” Mr. Thought gets up and vanishes in the
party.
I watch him melt into the crowd, thinking how presumptuous of me to ask the God of the whole
universe, the God of creation to give me a guided tour of Heaven!
I wondered, not knowing what to ask God. My simple, child-like prayer lasted less than ten
seconds.
My ancient computer hummed. The ham radio crackled, and rain beat upon the window. In my
chair I leaned my head back, closed my eyes, and petitioned God who created the entire universe, this
prayer: “May I see Heaven? Lord, show me the beauty of Heaven. Let me see it. Allow me to touch it,
and breathe its air. Permit me to drink the water, and see your light. Let me stand and take in the
beauty of your Heaven.”
I believe that what God allowed me to experience was His excitement to show his children the
exquisite prize they will inherit.
The Lord answered my prayer, precisely!
What Heaven Is Not…
Let me offer a few things that we will NOT experience in Heaven.
I think you will agree with me on a few things I present here about what Heaven Is not.
I’ll present several “ain’ts” and I am sure you could add some ain’ts of your own.
1. The first ain’t is that there are no thieves in Heaven. Because there will be no thieves there will
be no locks, cops, and guns. There will be no jails or keys.
2. There ain’t gonna be no liars in Heaven. With no liars around whispering in your ear, or
smiling, crafty politicians lying, saying, “Everyone will get a healthy lunch… everyday… for free!”
There will be no, “He said… She said…” Lying goes hand in hand with being a thief. Lying creates
ego and lying is used to cover up a wrong that you know you committed. So, there ain’t gonna be no
lying in Heaven!
3. There Ain’t gonna be no jealous people where Heaven Is!
4. There Ain’t no bad things happening in Heaven. There will be no house fires in Heaven and so
there will not be any insurance policies. Without house fires there will be no fire stations. And since
house fires sometime cause injuries, there will not be any doctors or nurses. Do you see where this
simple line of logic is going?
Revelation 21:4 states -
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death,
neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are
passed away!”
I had five days off from work. I am a licensed ham radio enthusiast and so I talked to some other
hams from around the world. A bedroom needed painting that I painted sky blue. I helped my wife to
clean parts of the house, fixed a drippy faucet, and enjoyed my week vacation from the Army National
Guard.
I went to bed on what seemed to be a normal Saturday evening.
And then…
Follow Me…
“Come with me,” the smiling angel said. “The Lord has instructed me to show your inheritance
to you, an answer to your prayer.” The man stood tall and sturdy. His face shined bright. His garment
glowed bright and beautiful. Yet I do not remember seeing his face. However, I do remember his
smile. That smile of his was a smile of infinite wonder, a perfect smile. Limitless divine love drove
his smile.
His entire being was happy. As he smiled, I realized later that his mouth had never known a
frown, pursed lips, or an evil sneer. A jeering twist had never formed on the angel’s lips. His smile
was a sunbeam made of joy. The smile of this angel conveyed an “I know what the Lord has in store
for you” quality. The smile, perhaps in his eons of life, had been quiet, inactive, serene, and in a state
of quiescence in its untold ages of existence. The angel’s lips had never mouthed a harsh word; nor
anger; nor malice. His lips had never allowed a lie to pass. His genuine smile made me joyful also.
Like a transparent window, the smile revealed the angel’s joyous, happy, and ebullient sprit.
Although, I did not see his other facial features, his face beamed with healthy joy and happiness.
He looked like he loved to be happy, almost to the point of laughter. His young adult face looked
happy but carefree as a young child. Brightness shined from his face. He was not white like a
Caucasian person. But his face dazzled with brilliance because of being near, Jesus, who is Light.
1 John 1:5 –
This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is
light, and in him is no darkness at all.
His skin was not any earth color, white, black, or dark. There was no human racial-ness to him.
His skin glowed bright from within. But his light did not blind me. His glow radiated love, joy, and
warmth. His brightness mirrored his spirit.
I suspect that seeing all of his face was was not the point of his visit. The angel’s glow shined
through his white robe and caused his robe to dazzle.
He made a motion with his hand for me to follow him, and he said, “Come. Follow me.”
The angel was cordial, expressive, and patient with me during the entire time I spent with him.
And he was always very close. The angel stood by my left side most of the time, as did the angel in
my 1977 dream. He had a job to do. He had a mission to accomplish. The whole purpose was to escort
and guide me. He did not say his name and I failed to ask him. But I knew he was an angel of God; a
messenger from above; a messenger from Heaven. Upon meeting someone for the first time, I forget
to ask his or her name. Had he told me his name, I may have forgotten it anyway.
I have thought about that angel over these past twenty-one years. He was neither Jesus nor God.
If he had been the Lord he would have told me. I believe the “man” was an angel, a messenger sent by
the Lord to escort me to where Heaven Is.
Let’s face it, any new place you visit you will need a map, someone who knows the way, or a
GPS! Therefore, it was that an angel of the Lord, an emissary from Heaven stepped onto this planet,
woke me up, and guided me into Heaven. He allowed me to sniff Heaven’s pure air, wade into a
dazzling river. With a child-like delight, I touched things, and saw marvelous things. Indeed, without
his watchful guidance, I am sure I would have become lost and wandered into some sort of trouble if I
had been on my own!
He motioned to me with a flick of his wrist. “Follow me.” He said, “I am here to show you a
wondrous sight.” I sat up in bed and then found myself standing face-to-face, eye-to-eye. I was not
afraid to follow this fellow anywhere. While my soul and spirit traveled, my body lay in quiet
slumber.
Before leaving with the angel, I looked back to my bed. I saw myself, my body, and beside my
body lay my wife sleeping peacefully.
The angel knew what I was thinking and said, “Your body and your wife will be safe. Another
angel is watching and guarding both of you.”
Beside my wife stood a giant of an angel, his head touched the bedroom ceiling. He was
transparent, sort of half-invisible and half-visible. Ghost-like, translucent. With my new X-ray
Superman eyes, I could see the through the angel to bookshelf behind him!
Traveling the Stars
We flew through the starry heavens on a path, a ladder, or a stairway. We traveled forward at a
great speed. Whatever the method, I did not have any sensation of walking or flying, or something
moving me. I was moving along and standing erect. Our surroundings were as if inside a tunnel; a
walled tunnel made of brilliant, stars. Each star was bright. Standing, moving forward I realized that
every star shined a different color. I realized there were star colors that I did not recognize. Now as
then, I cannot describe them, but they were not of the normal red, green, yellow, and blue spectrum.
They whizzed by us at a fantastic, blurry speed.
I asked him, “Where are we?
His mater-of-fact reply was, “We are on the Highway to Heaven.”
There was a television program with that same title and I wish the angel had not called it a
Highway to Heaven. I sit typing and thinking that, you my reader, are thinking this entire story is a
story of fiction. But, I tell you, “No! ‘tis not an invented story.” The angel said, “… a highway to
Heaven.”
As fantastic as my story sounds, it is a true account that happened to me.
As I became accustomed to the whizzing stars – I turned around facing earth and witnessed our
round, blue marble. It was a three-quarter ball of darkened Earth far below us. The Earth was
becoming smaller and smaller, a Hope Diamond resting upon black velvet. Our direction could have
been northward beyond the Earth. However, the enfolding stars became more intense. The more they
dazzled, the quicker we seemed to be moving.
With a holy beauty, the otherworld stars shined and shimmered, full of colorful glory. Those
ethereal stars outshined the bland stars that God allows to shine upon Earth. A veil of supernatural
stars swallowed up the Earth. They were like bags of colored Christmas glitter that someone had
spilled. But, God had placed these unusual, glittery stars, scattering them throughout the deep ebony
colored Heavens to shield Earth.
Then we stopped.
The Mountain Of Stars
If I had already been facing forward, I would have observed The Scene. Mesmerized, I seemed to
be standing on something solid. But I had stood gazing backwards at the stars that had just swallowed
the Earth in a kaleidoscope of brilliant colors. The Earth had melted away behind a mass of gorgeous,
glistening stars. Still facing the wrong way, I asked the angel, “Why did we stop?”
“Turn around,” the angel said, whose inaudible voice seemed to chuckle.
I turned around to face a most amazing sight. The angel stretched his arm outward and
downward. His palm turned upward, just like the angel in my 1977 dream. With a giant sweep of his
hand from left to right, he stated, “Behold!”
Facing forward I beheld The Scene. My eyes feasted on a huge spherical globe! I fixed my
clouded eyes upon a spectacular, panoramic view of God’s house. Our inheritance; paradise lost. The
whole thing was bright and rich. Its sacred beauty filled my soul. Yet, although I can and will describe
all that I saw, (see Drawing 2), there was much that left me with a book-full of tempting questions.
Valley of Stars
Upward the angel had led me to a place he said was, “The Mountain of Stars.” We had stopped to
rest a moment and to look out over the magical splendor of the Valley of Stars. Yes, Heaven Is
nestled, in a cozy, beautiful valley. The light of graceful stars seemed to be there just to praise their
creator.
“Why is Heaven down in a valley?” I asked the angel.
He stated, “Now, Heaven Is in a valley to hide it from the prying eyes of man. We have just
passed through the stars that hide God’s house. It is God’s peak of created perfection in all of the
heavens. It will soon be seen by all people.”
The angel was referring to Heaven as God’s finest creation in space. God’s finest physical
creation in the heavens is His house.
Here, one must utter a big, “Duh!” If you were to build a house, you would construct it with the
best materials available. The barn however, might be of rough timber with doors that whistle when the
wind blows. I know I would build my estate like that.
The house He built is the most awesome thing!
1 Corinthians 2:9 –
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of
man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
That scripture is correct. My eyes… had never seen such a place! A big cathedral spinning in
space it is not. It is not a slick platform of gold with God engulfed in a holy plume of smoke. Nor is
this place a blast of light that knocks you down. No, it is none of these things.
I was amazed! I never would have guessed that a transparent golden sphere holds the insides of
Heaven. Enclosed inside this sphere is God’s house, New Jerusalem. My language fails in its
inadequacy to describe the things I saw. It is a colossal thing to see; to understand.
The Golden Sphere
“The sphere is of pure gold,” the angel stated. He knew what I was thinking, because he answered
before I could ask him.
The sphere, the best I can describe it, is like a bubble; like the bubble we used to play with in the
back yard. You would hold a circular ring by its handle and dip it into a soapy solution. Pull it out of
the suds and blow into the center of the ring. Presto. Smiles. Oooohs. Laughter. We created a
shimmering bubble!
Though made of gold there was a changing multi-colored effect playing upon the sphere. It was
an awesome colorful light show. Colors flashed, like sheets of lightning. They shimmered around the
golden sphere.
The workings of Heaven are not on the outside surface of the bubble. Life and activity exists
upon the outside surface of the earth. The workings of Heaven are inside the sphere.
I could see through the golden sphere onto the most beautiful spring-green land. Drawing 2
depicts the living area of Heaven.
Looking like an electrified jewel embedded in the center of the circular land stood a city-cube of
dazzling, colorful, golden splendor! Awesome rainbows of inexpressible colors flowed over, around,
and into the city-cube.
Almost all scriptures in the Bible refer to Heaven as “… in Heaven.” There are 247 references to,
“in Heaven” and zero references to “on Heaven.” There are two scriptures from God’s word. They will
help substantiate the sphere I described.
The book of Job describes Heaven’s circularity.
Job 22:14 -
Thick clouds cover Him, so that He cannot see, And He walks above the circle of heaven.
The other scripture is in the Psalms -
Psalm 19:6 -
His going forth [is] from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and
there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.
The word circuit is described in the (take your pick of dictionaries) as bounds, area, circle,
compass, and round.
Those two verses indicate that Heaven Is round, circular and that the Lord is inside, or enclosed
within.
I ask, “Reader, do you get it?”
Reader replies “Got it.”
I say, “Good!”
Heaven’s gold is not the gold that comes from a gold mine as here on earth. It is not like the gold
on a watch or like the gold on a wedding ring. Heaven’s gold is clear, yet having a golden look. I could
clearly see through the pure golden sphere, a transparent gold.
Earth’s gold is a dull shadow of Heaven’s marvelous gold. Joys and beauties are shadows of real
and lasting things in Heaven. Sin, hate, and wars are the dark shadows of things to come that
unbelievers will experience in Hell, but with more intensity, and forever.
I saw two chief colors through the gold sphere. One color was of a brighter radiant gold and the
other was a green that this earth is incapable of displaying.
A rainbow of dancing colors zipped across the surface of the sphere. They dazzled like lightning
across the whole expanse of the golden bubble. The sphere radiated a warm, colorful glow of loving
gold color that advertised, “God Lives Here!” Stop. Think about that.
Have you ever stood outside and watched a glowing sunset? And have you seen a sunset with
brilliant, molten gold, and with yellows and reds? Long golden beams of sunshine dazzle the edges of
white clouds. Fingers of golden light that radiate outward into the evening sky. The golden light from
the bubble was a spectacle of superior beauty; more enthralling than any sunset or sunrise I have ever
seen.
The gold sphere itself does not shine. The light originates from a huge and colorful cube-shaped
city from within the beautiful crystal bubble. The surrounding stars emitted their pinpoints of white
light, and the bubble imparted a golden glow throughout the Valley of Stars. Brilliant beams of white
and gold light formed a pure and holy aura that surrounded the sphere. The aura of it all was a
shimmering beautiful rainbow, colored with different hues of gold and other unspeakable colors. All
of the colors looked delicious, edible in a curious sort of way. As beautiful as it was, it is not humanly
possible to describe the surrounding aura.
The Holy City
I have counted approximately 37 Biblical name variations of the Holy City. Revelation 3:12
comes to mind. I will use several of the names – yet it is all the same place – The Holy City.
The angel explained to me that, “The city you see inside is New Jerusalem. It is Heaven’s Heart.
The Father and the Lord Jesus are inside on their thrones. The surrounding land is called Paradise.”
I saw the cubical city, New Jerusalem, sitting at the center of Paradise within the sphere. The
heart of Heaven, New Jerusalem, is like a flawless gem resting upon a brilliant, spring-green velvet
land. New Jerusalem is a very desirable and exquisite jewel nestled on a green satin lining inside a
jewel box.
Psalm 84:2 –
My soul longs, yea, even faints for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh cries
out for the living God.
The Courts of the Lord glowed. The Courts were so beautiful, far beyond anything I have ever
seen or imagined. Beautiful, splendid, and magnificent do not justify my description. Magical beams
of light, emanating from New Jerusalem, shone in every direction. They poked their shining fingers of
living light into places were shadows can never darken.
The city’s shape had the look of a colorful, bright cube. Its colors were bright. Its hues were more
than the colors of a springtime rainbow. The colors were not those of an Earth rainbow. Other colors
dazzled. Colors I have never seen. These new colors were indescribable!
The city sparkled like a pure cut crystal diamond. Bright and shiny are such dull words! Simply
put, the golden city glowed with a precious beauty. It gleamed and glittered within the gold sphere.
The many hues of unspeakable colors shone through the golden crystal that enveloped the whole of
Paradise and the City of God, New Jerusalem.
Land of Paradise
From my perspective and distance upon the Mountain of Stars, Paradise appeared flat. However,
as the angel and I flew closer, Paradise revealed ‘wrinkles’ that proved later in my visit to be hills and
valleys. Paradise is a disk of thick land fitted inside the sphere. Its disk-like look reminds me of
child’s toy gyroscope. The green velvet of Paradise’s outer edges touched the inside wall of the
sphere. The color of the edge, the dirt, was a deep brownish-black, as good dirt should be. Although
the disk seemed thin, the land is about three or four times as thick as New Jerusalem.
Revelation, 21:16 says –
The city is laid out as a square; its length is as great as its breadth. And he measured the
city with the reed: twelve thousand furlongs. Its length, breadth, and height are equal.
The city is twelve-thousand furlongs, which is about one thousand five hundred miles long (1931
km) and is the same in height. So the disk of land would be about six-thousand miles thick, (9656 km).
The diameter of the sphere is enormous. I calculated from the center of the sphere to the City,
there could be fitted twenty New Jerusalem’s. Therefore, the distance from the city to the outer edge
of the sphere would be thirty-thousand miles, (48,280 km). The diameter of the sphere would be sixty
thousand miles across, (96,560 km)! Another comparative measurement to give you an idea just how
large the Sphere of Heaven Is, consider that the earth is only eight thousand miles in diameter, (12,875
km). The planet of Saturn is seventy five thousand miles in diameter, (12,700 km).
From my description, you know that the city of New Jerusalem is inside and centered in the
sphere. Surrounding the city is a land of indescribable rich and green beauty. Heaven’s air flows
within the top half of the sphere.
Beneath the Land
Beneath the disk of land, the angel indicated that the bottom half contained water, but not the
earth kind of water. So, I asked, “What do you mean water, but not like earth water?”
The angel replied, saying, “The water is not what you know. It is a different kind of water that
you do not know about.” Then he offered this explanation of the water. “It is water that is not under
God’s curse. God’s Word, your Bible, calls it the Water of Life. It is Living Water.”
Later I was to understand what Living Water does!
It is impossible to describe in words what I saw next. It defies my personal imagination, because
what I saw seemed impossible, unbelievable. Yet if you think about it, the following description is
consistent with many heavenly bodies have in common: orbiting moons, rings, and belts of dust.
Orbiting the Sphere
On the outside of the golden sphere, there are bands of islands circling the sphere, such as like
our Earth’s moon. The islands are different sizes and shapes and generally follow the curvature of the
sphere. Their general shapes were curved and oblong. Their orbits followed the roundness of the
outside of the golden sphere. Some islands seemed smaller than New Jerusalem, while others could
hold many cubical cities. Like the rings of Saturn, the floating islands orbit at the sphere’s equator.
They extend outward, about half the diameter of the sphere.
The angel and I scooted closer. I cannot say for sure, but we were far away from the Sphere of
Heaven. Perhaps we were some one hundred thousand miles from the outer sphere. But I can’t be sure
as time and space seemed different from the Earth’s. With super speed, we arrived at the outer part of
the beautiful sphere. Consider our speed. We zoomed as if you were looking through a camera lens, or
a pair of zoom binoculars, and you quickly adjust the zoom to get a closer look.
Leaving the Mountain of Stars and traveling to the outer part of the sphere both the angel and I
seemed to arrive within the time of a slow blink of the eyes. But my eyes were wide open, astonished.
I could see that the general color of the islands were a dark and lush green. The green color is
darker than the spring-like green inside the sphere. Less light, maybe? I did not see any water
surrounding them, but at their outer edges lay that rich, dark brown dirt, like the dirt of the disk. We
did not stop to visit any of the islands. But I wish we could have. We flew from the Mountain of Stars
downward toward the right side of the sphere and passed low over a few of the islands. I could see the
dark, deep green color. The verdant lush color was because of the thick forests and grasslands. Weird?
Yes, I thought so!
Drawing 2: The Sphere of Heaven. The upper half is air; bottom half contains the Water of Life; center disk is Paradise; and
the square cube is New Jerusalem, measuring 1500 miles in all four dimensions! Rather than orbiting moons, Heaven
Entering the Sphere
I have often wondered about what happened next, because what occurred is that I cannot
remember where, or how, we entered the sphere and then stood upon the velvety feel of Paradise. Was
it a door? Was it a giant pearly gate? Hmm. There are twelve gates of pearl to enter New Jerusalem.
But I will always wonder about the golden sphere. Did the angel put me to sleep so he could unlock
some mysterious, secret entryway?
Touchdown on Paradise
Next, I found myself standing upon the vast green plain I had seen from the Mountain of Stars. I
stood on a soft carpet of indescribable beauty. In the distance, there were trees growing at the edge of
a forest, the tree’s branches heavy with bright colorful leaves. The woodlands glowed bright with a
rainbow of colors. Some colors I had never seen before. They shined as if backlit by the early rising
sun. Their twinkling leaves grew from limbs from the tops to the bottom, touching the soft, green
carpet, looking like tall tree-bushes.
The field I stood upon was in the midst of a beautiful and delightful spring day. Perhaps it is
spring all the time… always in full bloom.
Revelation 22:2 says -
“In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life,
which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded their fruit every month. The leaves of the
tree were for the healing of the nations.”
My eyes thrilled as I took in the striking wild-hued flowers of all varieties and shapes. They
dotted themselves against the vivid green grass. Like the tree leaves, the flowers sparkled from within.
I saw that each leaf and petal glowed from their interiors, as if lit by an brilliant electric light.
I did not feel cold, nor did I feel too warm. The temperature, it seemed, was perfect. The crystal
air was clear, was pure, and sweet smelling. It was a perfect day in Heaven. Oh, what a peaceful and
tranquil morning it was. Mind you, it was about 2:00 a.m. where I had been sleeping. A refreshing
calmness saturated and permeated everything. Calm enveloped my whole being. Inside the sphere, the
light cast a certain golden touch of a morning sunrise. The whole environment was peaceful and quiet.
There was an overwhelming blessed and stunning silence. At my feet, grew colorful flowers with four
large petals each. They mingled with the bright, vivid, sparkling green grass. The grass glistened with
sparkling drops of dew. See Drawing 3.
The grass was a couple of inches tall and the flowers a few inches above the grass. My feet sank
into the cool, velvety soft lawn. This had to be someone’s manicured lawn, for I did not see any ugly,
thorny weeds. Nothing was out of place. All was in perfect orderliness and harmony. The beauty of it
all was astonishing. Nowhere did I see a dead blade of grass or a wilting flower petal. Infinite rays of
colorful light permeated everything. It seemed that every colorful thing I saw seemed bright from
within. Their colors excited my eyes. My eyes danced about looking everywhere for new colors, a kid
in a candy shop!
I took a deep, deep breath of air. What my lungs (Remember, I could see, hear, smell, too) took
in was a soft and cool, and sweet breath of air. It was invigorating, like fresh spring air just after a
morning rain. I looked up to the sky. The sky was bright and golden as if the sun had just set. It was
inside of the great golden sphere. Above, a lightning storm of iridescent colors chased with wild
abandon across the expanse of vaulted hemisphere. Yet there was no thunder. It was more beautiful
than any sunset I had ever remembered. Sweet rays of color painted every living thing. I looked
upward for the sun, but could not find it hanging in the golden sky.
The light emanating from New Jerusalem beamed everywhere to the inner sides of the sphere.
Those light rays reflected from the inner sphere giving Heaven its shadowless light.
Revelation 21:23 explains this light:
“And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon to shine in it: for the glory of
God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.”
This is where I wanted to stay… forever!
“Where are we?” I asked the angel, “Where’s the sun? It’s so very beautiful here.” I said with an
incredulous tone of voice, mixed with joyous abandon.
Heavenly City, New Jerusalem
The angel said, “You’re standing in Heaven’s Paradise. Look up and straight ahead and you will
see New Jerusalem. The light you see is from God who is within the city.”
When I looked up and straight ahead, I became aware of New Jerusalem, that golden cubical city
of light I had seen from atop the Mountain of Stars. From out of the City, light radiated. It illuminated
the whole of the Heavenly sphere. The shining light, a colorful bouquet of light gives brightness to the
inside of the sphere and beyond. Its aura is a magnificent, golden quality, and its multi-colored golden
light engulfs all of the sphere and the gives light and warmth to the islands that orbit Heaven.
Drawing 3: After looking at the stunning flowers, the angel directed my attention towards New Jerusalem and this picture is
approximately the scene I saw. Beautiful, huh?
The light from the city is a supernatural light; a light of God’s Love. Rays of Holy light bounce
off the inside of the sphere. They scatter... everywhere! It finds dark shadows and cheerfully paints
them with loving brightness. The light waivers and scintillates and oscillates. Those are large and
complicated words to just enjoy God’s holy light. It proclaims that Heaven Is the House of the Lord,
and it beams its praises back toward Him.
“We are standing on the outer edge of Paradise.” The angel proclaimed. “You asked God to let
you experience Heaven. See for yourself its magnificence, and let your joy soar with the sight of New
Jerusalem. This is your inheritance. It will be yours to walk on and live in with Jesus.”
I looked ahead toward the holy city. New Jerusalem is a commanding city of holy light. The pure
gold sphere filtered the light that I was looking at from the Mountain of Stars. Now I could see the
light as God intended it to be. The city is an immense cube. I believe that where I was standing was
looking straight at one of its four corners. This gave the illusion the cubed city had a peaked type roof,
or a pyramid shaped structure.
Its brightness is extraordinary, but its intensity did not hurt my eyes. The light is complimentary
to the eyes. They soaked in the light, as skin soaks up the sunlight here on earth. It did not burn or hurt
my eyes to look at it, such as looking into the sun on earth.
I saw the city atop the rising land. The land slopes upward toward the City. This awesome sight
was unhindered by the hills or the line of forest.
According to the Bible, each side of the city is fifteen hundred miles long; the height of the
cubical city is also fifteen hundred miles high! From the Mountain of Stars, I remembered seeing
“wrinkles” on Paradise. These wrinkles turned out to be hills and mountains in various places upon the
vast green carpet when observed standing on Paradise. A green blanket dotted with wild colors rise
upward toward the city. Regardless of the climb toward the City, it will be easy for anyone to travel
and see the Lord Jesus. John wrote -
Revelation 7:17 -
“For the Lamb, Jesus, which is in the midst of the throne, shall feed them, and shall lead
them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.”
New Colors And Living Light
‘Living’ is a good word that describes the manner of the light and how it was spangled with
divine spark and vitality. The light was not hot, nor even warm. Yet, it did fill me with a sense of
eternal and forever love. This light embraced me, and it embraced everything around me. The light
shone on me with love and life.
The light from earth’s sun is the sum of all the colors we know, and when we dare look at the
sun’s harsh light, it burns our eyes and heats our faces. You do not see its individual colors, except
with a prism. You see the sum of the colors as white. The sum of the light from the city is white, but it
is a colorful white light.
Here, I am trying to explain the impossible! It is a white light full of beautiful colors. Of course,
I saw red, blue, green, and yellow. There were other colors, too; colors that I have never seen.
I wish that you could see inside my brain those new colors when I close my eyes! They are
colors; colors glorified. When I close my eyes, I thirst for that place of supernatural colors. We do not
see those colors here on earth. We see that our sun emits a white light. It is the sum of all of its colors.
Heaven’s wonderful light is hard to describe; a Godly, Holy, majestic sort of ‘stuff’! On earth, we do
not enjoy a light that is all of these attributes: life, love, and full of color.
Pure Clean Air
The air was the most refreshing I have ever inhaled. It smelled sweet and pure. Inhaling the
delicious scented air was fresher than a fresh whiff of stimulating sea breeze and sweeter than the
moist, fragrant air following a spring rain. The air was clearer than the air in the high Sierra
Mountains of California.
“This is pure air. It is living air. This air has no dust,” the angel explained. The air we breathe on
earth is dusty and impure. Earth’s air has dust particles and all sorts of pollution floating in it. If you
think that the air in your home is clean, it is not. The next time you see a ray of sunshine flooding
through a window look through the light into a dark part of the room. You will see trillions of particles
of dust and other unhealthy things that swirl about in YOUR home’s clean air.
My lungs sucked in the rich air. I took several deep breaths. “NO! Don’t breathe too hard.” The
angel warned. “You will not be able to sleep for many days. Your body will tire more easily.”
Prostrate I Prayed
Embarrassed, I asked what seemed like the right thing to do at this point. I was like a child
asking if the house I saw was God’s, I asked the angel, “Is that God’s house,” as I pointed toward the
cubical city of Light.
The smiling angel’s reply was a simple, “Yes.”
“May I pray to Him? From here?” I asked the angel.
“The Lord is expecting you to talk to Him.” The angel replied. I took another deep breath of
sweet air and fell prostrate upon the cool, cotton-soft grass. To either side of me grew some colorful
flowers. Though I do not believe, or remember, that I saw Jesus, I lay prostrate, and I had the
sensation that my hands were within inches of His feet.
There were zero distractions to hinder the communication with my Creator. My spirit talked to
God. I do not remember what I said, or asked of God. I could have been praising Him. Praising God on
Earth is more difficult to accomplish. Let me explain.
Interference hinders our prayers on earth. The most notable thing I can think of is Satan himself.
Life also becomes distracting, too. You find yourself listening to your heartbeat. You tongue explores
the mouth and finds something between the teeth. It plays with the particle while trying to pry it loose.
“Pray! “ Your spirit insists. “Pray! “
But your mind can wander about concerned about an unpaid bill. Prayer, in comparison to being
in Heaven and praying, is quite difficult here on earth. As I prayed, the Lord gave me a vision of a
beautiful mansion somewhere in Heaven, which I will describe later.
Can You Hear The Music?
There are numerous Bible references to “making a joyful noise unto the Lord.” One of them is in
Psalm 95. With great delight it says,
Psalm 95:2 -
“Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise to the Rock
of our salvation.”
At some point when I finished praying to Him, I found myself kneeling, my buttocks sitting upon
the heels of my feet. Again I looked around at Paradise, inhaling another fresh and exhilarating breath
of air. Now what happened next, I will never forget.
Do you remember a time when you may have sat upon the grass and rubbed your hand over it to
feel its softness? Remember how the grass made a swishing sound when you passed your hand over it?
Also, you may have gotten unwanted things on your hand like dirt, bugs, or gritty moisture.
Grass
First, let me describe the grass. Yes it was green: spring fresh, green. The feel of the grass was
soft like velvet, fur, soft moss, and even feeling a bit like soft cotton. It smelled clean and fresh, and
yes, it smelled green!
Reminiscing, I remember that I could feel the colors as well as see colors, but I remember that I
could smell the green color. For that matter I could feel, see, and smell all of the colors. Hmm. I
wonder if colors taste delicious.
Upon a closer inspection at a blade of grass, it seemed that it was translucent green. Translucent
means it lets light through, but you cannot see through it clearly. This grass was like frosted green
glass, or plastic. As I became aware of the grass and the flowers, a gentle breeze wafted past. As the
peaceful wind drifted about me, I could hear and feel the grass and the flowers singing… in unison,
with one harmonious voice!
The angel observed my amazement. He laughed and said, “Heaven Is a joyful place. Everything
in Heaven praises the Lord.”
Air Flow
The angel continued, “When the air moves in Heaven, it praises the Lord. It vibrates the grass,
the flowers, and the trees, and all together they rejoice with one accord, praising our Lord.”
The gentle wind moved over and around the blades of grass. The flower petals trembled… with
joy. The grass vibrated. And the grass and flowers became like wind chimes, as if wired together to
ping and ding, tinkle and jingle, and bong and dong. The wind plucked invisible musical strings. A
choir of living grasses and flowers rose up in sweet unison, all in harmony. The sound of joyous music
arose from around my feet!
Flowers
Thrilled and with much reverence I stayed seated upon my bent knees. Stretching out my fingers,
I put my hands down into the cool grass beside me. The grass looked as if it was wet with dew. I
swooshed my hands back and forth. The bending of the green grass caused the brilliant flowers to flop
about, send majestic music into the air.
The dew, perhaps more like sparkling diamonds than drops of water, twinkled and scattered into
the air like tiny silver stars. I swooshed the grass back and forth. Oh! What joy I had rubbing my
hands against the flowers and grass! The grass and the flowers did not break with the weight and
movement of my hands. They would bend and spring upright sending more twinkling stars into the air.
Listen to the noise the grass makes. Listen. It is a holy sound from Heaven! Listen carefully…
The movement of my hands through the grass did not make an earthly swooshing sound. It made
a tinkling sound. Each blade, each flower petal pinged aloud with a different musical note as if from a
music box, or the tinkling of a wind chime. They emitted high, middle, and low notes.
The best sound I can make with words is that the grass and the wild colored flowers performed a
magical musical, a concert of joyful noise unto the Lord! I passed my hands over the grass faster and
faster. A single finger could tease them into wild symphonies, much like directing a choir singing in
harmony with a thousand voices.
So, did you hear the music?
The Fly Over
The angel touched me on my shoulder and said in a laughing tone of voice, “Ed, time on earth is
progressing and the Lord has instructed me to show you more of Heaven.”
In an instant, we flew above the surface of Paradise’s stunning green. I have had flying lessons in
a Cessna 172 and I can remember estimating the elevation. But, back to my Heavenly story. We flew,
but not the instant type of flying, from point A to point B as in the slow blinking of an eye as we had
done from the Mountain of Stars. We flew at a relaxed pace, and we seemed to be flying at about 1500
feet above the ground.
Beneath us passed hills, paths and roads, rivers and creeks, and dense forest. The scene below
was amazing. The sparkling bright green grass below shimmered with bright magic. The trees
sparkled in brilliance, ablaze with hues no mortal artist could mix. A creek below passed beneath
shining, glittering, as molten gold. The air smelled sensual. New Jerusalem’s colored bands of lights
glowed upon everything.
The Mansion
The angel pointed down toward a pretty, country home. “Look,” he said, pointing down, as if he
were a pilot pointing out something special to his co-pilot. “There is your mansion, Ed.”
I gazed downward at the scene. My spirit shivered with joy. “My place! My place in the stars.
My place in Heaven. My forever home!” From the size of the borders the whole land seemed, by a
’thumbs reckoning‘, I guess, about twenty acres. Well… It could be more or less, but what does the
size matter. I think I would be just as happy with a tent at the back door of Heaven. Remember the
place where the angel sneaked me through, as opposed to the alternative, Hell.
Psalm 84:10 says –
“For a day in Your courts is better than anywhere else. I would rather be a doorkeeper in
the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness.”
There it was. Pointing toward the sky was that tall tower that I first told you about in my 1977
dream with its high and wide windows. Topping the tower was a steep, conical roof. Beside the tower
was a huge home with different styled roofs, slanting roofs, and hip roofs, and gable roofs, and others.
Its many windows reflected the glow from the golden sky and the brilliant light from the cubical of
New Jerusalem where the Lord sits on His throne.
A very awesome green grass flourished in gorgeous splendor on the land. Surrounding the home
were beautiful flower gardens. The colors of the flowers sparkled and dazzled. There were many
varieties of flowers and an enormous range of brilliant, indescribable colors.
Winding about the land were glittering footpaths. Some paths met in a circular roundabout.
Within an oval roundabout, there was a structure that looked like a gazebo. There were two bright
colored, sparkling pools of water. The pools caught the sky and shimmered golden. A breathtaking
stream, alive with a million sparkling colors, flowed between two opposite borders of the land. It
disappeared beneath the glimmering leaves of a thick and lush forest.
Silently, the mansion passed beneath us as if we were flying in that Cessna 172, but without its
noisy six-cylinder gasoline engine, sounding like an airborne lawnmower.
The River Of Life
This amazing thing happened. After the angel had pointed out the mansion, he and I landed at the
edge of a shining, sparkling golden river. I stood there not knowing what was happening. Remember,
I’m the new guy on the block, so to speak.
What appeared to be a small park was where I saw my first Heavenly people. There were children
and adults enjoying a relaxed afternoon, about twenty people in all, at the park. They were having fun.
Some young children frolicked in the deeper part of the river, not drowning, just splashing, laughing,
and having a riot of fun.
No one in particular seemed anxious for the children’s safety. Some people sat on the edge of the
river talking, their feet dangling in the water. Some just sat on the grass talking. I heard some people
laughing as though they were amazed at themselves for being in Heaven. Well… at the time, then, it
was difficult to describe and to understand the people’s extreme happiness.
Now, reflecting back to that wonderful place beside the river, I know why those people were
happy. They were over-joyous! They were in Heaven because they put their faith in the saving power
of the blood of Jesus Christ. They believed that Jesus died upon the cross to forgive their sins. And for
their faith and belief, they were being rewarded with the gift of eternal life.
Gently, the angel took my hand and led me to the edge of the river. The angel took my hand and
led me into the river. With a gentle tug, we walked deeper and deeper into the water until the surface
was over our heads. Breathing was not an issue, for I could breathe as if breathing the fresh air above.
“I can breathe!” I said, astonished. I spoke to the angel underwater, in clear tones without my
words sounding bubbly. It was as if we were underwater but in the air all at the same time.
“You are standing in the River of Life. It is of the Spirit of God. It washes away the scars of sin.
It gives life to your spirit. You shall never thirst with this water. It flows from the Spirit of the Living
God, feeding the Trees of Life.”
I do not know how long we were under water, as I did not have a watch strapped on my wrist.
Finally, we walked out of the life-giving flow of everlasting, living water that soaked into my soul and
spirit with God’s everlasting life and the cleansing forgiveness of a sin-ravaged soul. I felt clean,
sinless, and alive!
John 4:14 reads:
But whosoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water
that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
As we emerged from the River of Life, I noticed that I was not dripping wet! There were four or
five young people sitting at the edge of the river. When I rose up from the surface, they were all
smiling. One of them said something to me, but his speech was garbled and I could not understand
him. The angel said, “You cannot understand him because it is unlawful for you hear what he is
saying. It is not lawful for a living man to hear and repeat what he is saying.”
2 Corinthians 12:4 says -
How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not
lawful for a man to utter.
To Leave or Not To Leave
The angel touched me on my right shoulder and announced in a rather delighted, happy sounding
voice, “Come on, Ed, it is time to return you to earth. If we do not leave now, you will be drunk with
the Lord’s Goodness for too many days.”
“Wait!” I thought, “I’m almost home!” My mansion, prepared by Jesus, stood somewhere
beyond the walls of that beautiful city, New Jerusalem.
I thought to myself, “Just walk to the City. I’ll be with Jesus, forever!” What else would I see
inside the city?
Would I see mansions built of precious stones? Where were those streets in the book of
Revelation that describe streets paved with pure gold? Maybe I could find some relatives soaking up
life from the rivers of that living water.
The glory inside Heaven would be mine to explore forever. It did not matter if the city was a
thousand miles away!
But, alas, I could not stay. My earth body was not worn out, sick or ready to die. My family,
friends, and co-workers still needed me. Besides, God said He wanted me to write this amazing
glimpse of Heaven Is, and for you to read it! Yes! God was thinking of you, my dear reader!
Headed Back to Bed
“Must I go? I’m home!” I said to the angel, pleading to stay.
The angel touched me, and in that same instant, we both stood on the Mountain of Stars at the
head of the Highway to Heaven.
At the Mountain of Stars, I turned around and with a yearning desire looked back toward the
sphere nestled within the Valley of Heaven. My eyes made a panoramic sweep across its glorious
beauty. I took my last, homesick look at the Sphere of Heaven. The green of Paradise contrasted
pleasantly with Heaven’s general gold colors. The cubical city, New Jerusalem, was radiating an
amazing dance of colorful, white light from the Spirit of the Lord.
I knew, however, I would return someday and forever. We sped down the Highway to Heaven and
the next thing I knew, I was waking up with a rushing, joyful bubbly new beginning.
Awake
My whole being was alive. In an instant awoke. My spirit sang and praised God. I looked at my
clock, which read 3:32 a.m. The angel was correct about not sleeping. I did not sleep for the remainder
of that night. When someone sees a movie they like very much, they watch it again and again.
For many, many months afterward, I would wake up after sleeping for about an hour and a half. I
would remember and savor every single detail as it had happened. The details have never faded from
my mind, (except that 1977 dream). After 22 years I can still remember my trip to where Heaven Is.
Someday
Every day, since visiting my Father’s kingdom, I know that earth is not a permanent place.
Heaven Is our eternal home and a holy, joyful place. As the days and years have passed, I find myself
thinking about what I saw and how wonderful it will be to live there forever.
Hebrews 11:16 says this -
“But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore, God is not ashamed
to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.”
When I think about Heaven and being with Jesus, I get warm and joyous sensations flowing from
my inward spirit to my outward body. Instead of shivers of cold, I get shivers of joyous warmth. It
seems that since my spirit was absent from my body, that my spirit is always restless to bid my earth-
body, bio-body, goodbye.
God said to me, “Write about your visit to Heaven for My glory.”
Heaven Is a joyful place. The next time you are enjoying the green grass at home, remember that
the grass IS greener on the other side and it makes a…
…concert of joyful noise to the Lord!
Getting There
You wanna go there? Curious about seeing more of Heaven? You need to be saved; you need to
be born again –
Do this: say the words below and mean them with all of your heart. The Lord is waiting for you.
He loves you and wants you to live in eternal life with Him. Salvation is now, not tomorrow when you
feel better; not next year when you think times may be better.
God says in 2 Corinthians 6:2:
For He says: "In an acceptable time I have heard you, and in the day of salvation I
have helped you." Behold, NOW is the accepted time; behold, NOW is the day of
salvation.
Let’s face it. You or I do not know when the proverbial brick will fall upon our head and send us
into eternity!
Right now, wherever you are, repent; lift your heart to God in prayer…
Just say these words to God and believe them in your heart. Taste and savor each individual
word.
Get Your Ticket
God, I know I am a sinner.
I believe Jesus was my substitute when He died on the Cross. I believe His shed blood, death,
burial, and resurrection were for me.
I now receive Jesus as my Savior.
I thank You for the forgiveness of my sins, the gift of salvation and everlasting life, because of
Your merciful grace. Amen. Believe, and you will be saved.
The Biblical reference for the above is
Romans, chapter 10, versus 9 ~ 13:
9: That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God
has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.
10: For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is
made to salvation.
11: For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”
12: For there is no distinction between the Jew and the Greek, for the same Lord over all
is rich to all who call upon Him.
13: For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved!”
No church, no membership, no good works can save you.
Remember, God does the saving. All of it!
Dad – Continued From the Dedication
Remember in my dedication to my Dad that I said my last words to him were, “I’ll see you in
Heaven, Dad?”
During Dad’s last three years, he enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner with my wife and me. In
Sacramento, California, we dined on the Delta King, a rear-paddle riverboat converted into a
wonderful restaurant.
We walked on the gangway and down the only set stairs to the deck of the Delta King. Entering
the dining area, the maître d’ ushered my Dad, his wife, and me and my wife to a table.
He enjoyed our company and we enjoyed his.
About to go our separate ways, Dad said, “Next year? Ok, Ed?”
To which I replied, “Of course, Dad. We’ll all have Thanksgiving here next year.”
2003 was his last Thanksgiving meal.
That following Thanksgiving in 2004 my wife and I walked into the Delta King and as the maître
d was showing us to our table, I noticed a man outside the dining room. He would have been standing
on the outside deck.
His face was smiling – no – his face was full of laughter – joyful – bright and youthful. He was
waving, and he was looking right at me.
I thought, no one is ever that happy! So I turned around expecting a sitting patron to be waving
back at this very happy man. I looked. No one noticed. No one cared. Not even the kids who sat near
the window noticed the man who waved.
My wife did not notice him until I got her attention. “Who’s he waving at?” I asked her.
She looked at him and then around to the busy dining room, and back to me. “He looks so much
like your Dad,” she said.
I looked again. He did look like Dad but much younger and healthier. This insane guy who waved
– at me - appeared way happier! Beside, Dad had died six months ago. I watched them close the casket
on the 82 year-old, once fabulous physician.
As I walked with my wife and the maître d, the man, who looked like Dad, continued waving and
looking right at me. Still, no one else in the dining room noticed this super happy man waving – not
even the people sitting by the window!!!
“What would you like the drink?” the maître d inquired.
In unison, “Tea,” we replied.
Still standing and watching him wave, I told my wife, “I’ll be right back.”
Still – no one in the dining room seemed to be aware of the man in the window making a fool of
himself.
Watching him wave, smile, and laugh I had only to take some twenty steps to a door that opened
onto the deck. Mind you, his waving followed me as I went to the door. I reached the door and popped
it open.
He was gone. Vanished.
There was only the stairs and elevator but those were about eighty feet distant from the window.
There was no way for a physical man to stay waving at that window and leave it and not see him
running toward the steps or to wait at the elevator while pushing the up button. Just no way.
I believe it was Dad. I believe that the Lord allowed me to see Dad as God had changed him in
the six months of being in Heaven.

  • 6. Dedication Dedicated to my Dad Enjoying Heaven 1921 ~ 2004 Suddenly I awoke at 2:15 in the morning… and I knew in my spirit that my Dad had passed from this life and into Heaven… Then the phone jangled me awake five minutes later from my brother, Tom. “Ed… Dad just died five minutes ago.” His voice trailed away. When I was sixteen, Dad ridiculed my new-found love for God. Now after all those years I was fifty-nine years old and listening to his final breathing, something the doctors call the “death rattle.” From my warm bed I rushed to Dad’s bedside, in Auburn, California, a town thirty-five miles from Sacramento. “Mister Gaulden is in room One-Forty-Seven, Sir,” the nurse replied to my question of where is he. As I opened the door to his room, there seemed to be a party atmosphere amongst relatives and nurses. Someone said, above the merry gathering, “Let’s go out for coffee and let Ed have some private time with Dad.” The room emptied of people. Nurses, brothers and sisters, his wife, and the curious left Dad and I to be alone. The room became eerily quiet. I sat down and held Dad’s cold and limp hand, a wrinkled and spotted hand. It was a hand that had practiced medicine for nearly fifty-five years and had helped countless patients. “Dad,” I began, not knowing exactly what to say to a dying person. “Today you will go into eternity.” With a soft and quiet voice, I told him of God’s love toward him. “Dad, believe that Jesus died for you on the cross.” With his irregular breath rattling like little stones rolling over a washboard, he listened to me tell of the time when an angel led me on an escorted trip into Heaven and back. I finished what I needed to tell him. For a moment, his harsh breathing stopped and changed to a more relaxed respiration. Raising his arms above his head, he “gurgled” loudly toward an unseen someone or something. His uncontrolled arms plopped back to his side. His breath softened, becoming more satisfied, quieter, a contented “gurgle.” My last words to Dad were, “I’ll see you in Heaven, Dad.”
  • 7. Forward The 'adventure' started one day as I was thinking how to start a fiction story using Heaven as the main stage. You know - bright lights, angels, and wonderful people living in pleasant villages. That was the start of an adventure that would be, not as a book-length story, but sixty pages of handwritten wonder. Going to Heaven had stolen my breath. It was that kind of wonder! It was a dark and stormy night. I sat at my electronics worktable. A tired old radio, its lights glowing yellow, hissed in the background. With its covers off, tentacles of wires fed pulsing test equipment. At the same time, I was studying between several books, two of which were the Bible and a concordance. The computer, an ancient stone tablet by today’s standards hummed, ready for my fingers to tap upon its ever-waiting keyboard. Its green cursor blinked patiently upon the computer’s black screen monitor. Several sounds formed a kind of background white noise that evening. An FM radio played classical music, my ham radio crackled with a fluttery telegraph message between two distant ham radio operators, and rain beat hard upon the window facing the street. I was studying the impossible: Heaven. You see, it really was a dark and stormy night! Because the blood of Jesus had saved me, Heaven was not a foreign word, but a foreign place. The Bible says we are sojourners on this Earth, living in these mortal bodies for a short time. After death, Heaven Is for the saved. And a glimpse of Heaven Is what this short story is all about. Because Heaven was a foreign place, a foreign land unknown to me except for the passages written in the Bible, I wanted to visit so I could get a firsthand knowledge of Heaven. The classical music played. The fluttery telegraph messages faded in and out of the short wave static. A vicious rainstorm beat hard upon my window, a freezing storm that had slipped down from Alaska. Sitting back in my chair, I closed my eyes and prayed to the Lord about seeing Heaven. “Lord, you have prompted me to write about Heaven. Allow me to see it first-hand. Let me experience Heaven’s colors, water, air, and flowers and trees. Thank you God. Amen.” God answered that prayer. I first recorded this visitation to Heaven during January 1991 and gave about 30 copies to friends and relatives. Everyone gave it a rave review. However I believe the readers regarded me from the corners of their eyes, askance, with great suspicion. They would say, “Like, umm, dude, no one goes to Heaven while still living, right?” In February 2010, I found my original manuscript, crinkled beneath a bunch of old books inside a ratty old cardboard box. When I started reading, it a flood of memories returned. Thus, I retyped the entire manuscript. I corrected my grammar errors, clarified ambiguities, completed full sentences, and placed the commas where they should belong. I believe it is now ready for the world… again. I believe this present world’s time is short and this story may give hope and comfort that Heaven Is a very, very joyful and genuine place. Please read the story with an open mind, comparing it to scripture. I created the artwork using Photoshop and I think that the illustrations are, well, “cheesy.” Still they convey some of what I saw and how the Lord wanted me to express Heaven using words. As you read, stop, close your eyes, and imagine what I was trying to convey. Form a mental picture. That should aid in understanding Heaven, a world that is indescribable. What is interesting to me is that at any time of the day or night I can remember the entire experience down to its smallest detail. Now, imagine, can you remember the tiny details of last night’s

  • 11. Heaven Is Not Science Fiction Heaven Is joyful. Heaven Is not fiction. Heaven Is a huge mansion. Heaven Is a place to live with God forever. The earth-bound human intellect cannot ever hope to understand all that Heaven will be. Passing from this world into eternity is like being a small seed. When we pass into eternity, we will grow as a beautiful flower. Recall that a squirmy worm transforms itself into a beautiful butterfly. Our present state is similar to a seed that God tends with great care. He is watering us and feeding our souls. Upon death, we will sprout forth and grow throughout eternity, growing beautiful, ever becoming like Christ. As that crawling caterpillar transforms itself a butterfly, so also does the soul of a Christian passing from this world into the next world. My visit to Heaven was not, to the best of my knowledge, a near death experience, or NDE as the phenomenon is termed. My car did not crash. My airplane did not fall from the sky. My yacht did not sink and I drowned. I did not need to die to enjoy what happened. I did not float above doctors and nurses trying to save me from death. No, none of that. I went to bed at my normal time on a Saturday night. In the small hours of the night, an angel awoke me. As a gentle docent, he led me and talked with me while on a tour of Heaven. No, I do not know his name! When it was over, the angel returned me to my body on Sunday morning. Other than the dedication to my Dad, you will not be bored about my family life or other personal things in my life. So many stories I have read on this subject spend hundreds of pages on the person’s life, but are short on description of what they saw and heard while being where Heaven Is. I offer, you my dear reader, two things: A dream that God gave to me in 1977 and my 1991 trip to where Heaven Is. Light Leaks Beneath The Door What is on the other side of the door of death? Do you think that God would let us peek through a door and take in the wonders of Heaven? What are some of the forbidden mysteries in Heaven that the people destined to go there will experience? Follow me and together you will get a glimpse into eternity, a place prepared for those who love God. The Lord allowed me to see a beautiful and joyful place and I wish to share it with you. It is
  • 12. something like seeing light from beneath a closed door. We can only imagine what lies on the other side. Only our senses comprehend motion and sound within, yet we cannot see or hear clearly. We can see a blazing light beneath the door’s threshold. The light we see on our side of the door paints a bright blur of light, an unfocused light. Moreover, we cannot see what causes such brilliant light. The Apostle Paul wrote this about seeing into Heaven, 1st Corinthians 13:12 says: “Now we see a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am known.” The Lord prompted me to use Heaven as a central theme in a story. I prayed about various stories that popped into my mind. Each story I tried writing withered into nothingness. Rather, the Lord would say to me, “No, not stories like that.” One evening the Lord whispered to my spirit. “Write about Heaven,” the small voice urged. God had prepared my mind and spirit for several weeks in order to help me grasp the meaning, importance, and reality of Heaven. Yet, I countered the voice, replying “But I know very little about Heaven.” Having the precious gift of God allowing me to visit Heaven the experience I had twenty-two years ago has remained locked and imprinted on my memory. Heaven Is A Glorious Mansion In the spring of 1977, God gave me curious dream about Heaven. I hid the details in my heart all these years. I was careful never to tell anyone about it, lest others would laugh at me. That spring dream and my 1991 experience is what I will describe to you. They go together like a hand inside a glove. In 2011, God told me, “It is time to tell people what you have seen in Heaven. You have given your writing talent for me to use. You volunteered, and now write about it, Ed.” People have dreams, visions, and actual experiences. I believe that my 1991 experience in Heaven was not a dream. People have written much about dreams. Dreams are a series of visual images while a person sleeps or is inattentive, like daydreaming. A vision is similar to a dream.‐ Visions are a divine revelation and can be experienced while asleep or awake. Visions are like watching the television. You see what is going on in a video, but you do not partake in what is happening through the television. Dreams and visions fade, but reality stays in the mind. For example, suppose you are watching television and there is a documentary about the wildlife of a beautiful valley. You watch the plants and other living things on the screen. You cannot feel them, nor can you touch them. You see the scenes. In stereo, you hear birds singing and the gurgling flow of water in a stream. You may see the effects of wind, yet not feel the wind, cool or warm, on your skin. Although, you can hear the sounds, you receive the sound through a mechanical speaker from the television. You are watching, but not participating. I must tell you about that dream I had in the spring of 1977. In the small hours of the morning I awakened, startled. Lying motionless in bed, I wondered about the dream that had awakened me. I prayed, “Lord, what did you do to me?’ The Lord answered back, “I gave you a dream. Savor and
  • 13. cherish what you just dreamed.” What I dreamt was a two-color picture of gold and black. The angel stood to my left, almost but not quite in my peripheral vision area. The angel did not show his face, but I saw his hand, palm up, pointing toward a magnificent building with many different roofing styles. The building was a dazzling bright gold color. The sky was starless, velvet black. The walls and various rooflines of the building shined a bright golden. The angel stood tall and strong, yet quiet, allowing me to take in the black sky and gold house. Then my eyes moved toward the left. There was a tower topped with a steep roof. I saw the angel better and his wings. Gesturing, He turned up his palm. Above, high in the tower, the black sky peeked through a rectangular window at the top of the tower. To the right of the tower, but lower, an awesome golden light played upon a structure topped with multiple roof designs at varying heights. Abruptly, the scene reversed. The golden building became black as the sky was, and the sky took on the golden blaze that the house had been. Standing, I marveled that the sky blazed golden, like a beautiful earth-type sunset. The building took on the blackness like that of the sky. Through the tower windows, the golden light shined as if the tower was a lighthouse. I looked at the angel and asked, “What am I seeing?” With a broad sweep of his hand from one end of the building to the other, he answered, “All this will be yours, soon.” Continuing to dream, I stood amazed, awestruck, and absorbing what the angel was showing me. Just as I turned to see what the angel looked like, I awoke. So, what did I see? Jesus said, in - John 14:2: “In my Father’s house are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.” I did not know it then, but now I believe that God let me see a glorified, one-dimensional view of my future mansion in Heaven! I did not see any detail of the building. I saw only the outline of a building with different rooflines, alternating in black and gold. Why me? I do not know. Why does God do the things he does? God has His own purposes. His ways are not our ways. Since that dream, I have been interested in Heaven. It is interesting to me that because this was a dream, I do not remember it to this day in July 2013. Today I can close my eyes and try as I may there is no remembrance of that dream. The dream is recounted here because a day or so following the dream, I agonized describing it on a lined piece of spiral bound notebook paper. The dream’s description survived several house moves. After writing about my visit to heaven, I included it in the original 1991 manuscript of visiting Heaven. One more tidbit: I associate the dream with a serious injury to my spine when I slid off a roof. My actual visit to Heaven is also associated with a another serious injury to my spine, seven months later in 1991. The Bible says – Acts 2:17:
  • 14. “And it shall come to pass in the last days, said the God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams…” And in Daniel 2:28: “…there is a God in Heaven that reveals secrets…” I shared that dream about the beautiful mansion. I hid the dream, inside a closet, deep in my heart, cherishing it as a rare jewel.
  • 15. Drawing 1: With a broad sweep of his hand, from one end of the building to the other, he answered, “All this will be yours, soon.”
  • 16. The Unexpected Prayer I have had debates of what happened to me on Super Bowl day, Sunday, January 27, 1991. Some people say to me that I had a dream. I counter and say that God gave me a unique gift, a very real experience. Dreams fade. The angel and the golden house faded. I struggled to remember it so I could describe it on paper just a few days later. But - real experiences stay in your memory! I think you will agree that what I am about to describe to you is exciting and quite remarkable. Of course, something like this defies a logical explanation. It defies the Educated Guess, the Master’s Degree assumptions, and the Ph.D.’s indisputable statements sustained by supreme education. You may not agree with what I write. But, remember, I say God gave me a gift that I will never forget. I saw what I saw. I touched what I touched. Sweet aromas filled my nose. YOU, the reader, did not experience this. I did. I must share it, because I am still excited about visiting Heaven, because Heaven Is! It was my experience and mine to share. If you disagree, then that is your personal decision. Heaven Is where I traveled to. Reading my story is to those who wish to read about what God gave as a unique gift. I offer my dream and experience to those who have, or are searching for, that eternal hope and desire that Heaven will be a place they will someday rest in, serve the Lord, and enjoy life as God designed we human beings to co-habit with God, forever. So, believe it or not, here is what I saw: It was a panoramic view of the whole of God’s home. Heaven Is glorious and marvelous! Glorious and marvelous are such dull and feeble words to describe Heaven. Exciting adjectives, such as “glorious” and “marvelous,” are as dreary as a dark cloudy day when describing the bright wonders I saw in Heaven. In a sense, the entire event was for all practical intent and purpose was – indescribable! After viewing the outside of Heaven I was escorted to the inside, and was placed onto Paradise. Paradise is a beautiful and peaceful place. Heaven Is a joyful place. Within this joyful place, I was to learn that everything desires to make a joyful noise to the Lord, everything! Human language is not capable of describing what Heaven Is. The languages of all Earthlings are inadequate to describe God’s home. You may think English has many wonderful words that express the wonders of Heaven. God’s Word says in – 1 Corinthians 2:9: “But as it is written, the eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither has it entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love Him.” The book of Isaiah says pretty much the same thing. Isaiah 64:4 - For since the beginning of the world no one has not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that wait for him.
  • 17. And I agree what Paul and Isaiah wrote, and that is Heaven Is indescribable. Consider this. How many words would you use to describe your morning coffee cup? In one of my college writing classes, the instructor asked us to describe her coffee cup. It rested, steaming near the edge of her desk. One student used two pages to describe that cup! Most of the students, me included, described it with a paragraph or two, using less than a half sheet of lined notebook paper. There was no grade. The writing exercise was to show us just how difficult it is to describe an everyday, mundane object, ha! Let alone the mysteries of Heaven. For just a short time, God allowed me to visit Heaven. The sounds, the sights, the smells, and the things I touched, and the beauty I saw and experienced was overwhelming. After returning to earth from where Heaven Is, I found it is a kingdom, a joyful place, which no physical human can describe with mere words, verbal or written. The English language cannot fully describe Heaven. Neither can we understand the infinite love of God toward us. When my daughter was seven years old, she had no knowledge of higher math, accounting, and economics. However, she could count to one hundred and could add and subtract small numbers. She had a rudimentary knowledge of numbers. A schoolteacher would not be able to communicate to her the economic reality of “guns versus butter.” At that stage in her life, she did not need that kind of knowledge. Try explaining the marvels we enjoy here in the industrialized world to someone living in a remote part of the world. The man may know about his favorite footpaths, hunting, hand-pumped well water, and fire for cooking food. He would not understand what we enjoy in western society. His language would not have the necessary words and expressions to understand superhighways, electricity, and fast food restaurants. And what about the phrase, “Pre-heat the oven to three hundred fifty degrees, or gas-mark 4.” With these examples in mind, I will try to describe what I saw. While I saw much, I know God only allowed me see a tiny piece of what Heaven Is. God answered my prayer exactly! Prayer works! Our Father loves to answer prayers. If a spaceship placed a little green being in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, bobbing in a rowboat, they would describe the Earth in this manner: “The Earth is made up of salt water, sometimes calm and sometimes rough. Its air smells of salt. The sky is sometimes blue and at times cloudy. When the clouds become dark, rain falls, diluting the salt of the ocean.” That would be a myopic description of the Earth. In similar fashion an angel led me to several places in Heaven, and of course I did not see all of Heaven. From my standpoint, my knowledge of Heaven is also myopic. Another question that may be burning in your mind is, “Why him? Why this guy? Is he just trying to sell a wild story for a few dollars?” Those are three good questions, my friend. My answer is, I wanted to know what Heaven looked like. I prayed and God honored that prayer! I believe God is excited about Heaven. He’s excited about us living with Him. Have you ever had a secret? How many people did you give clues about that secret? Listen. Our redemption is drawing near and Jesus will soon return. Get ready to enjoy eternal life! There is a picture of Jesus returning for his bride – Song of Solomon, verse 2:8: “The voice of my beloved! Behold, he comes leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon
  • 18. the hills.” What a picture of absolute joy, Jesus, so happy, so thrilled to be coming for his bride! The word “heaven” appears 582 times in the 1611 King James Version of the Bible. I searched the many verses of the Bible concerning Heaven and when I had finished, I said to myself, wow! I can hardly wait to see this place. Then a supernatural thought came to me. My thought was jovial, spoof-like! The thought was as if someone had come up to me at a party, holding a Pepsi. “Hi, my name is Mr. Thought,” he said. “Mind if I sit down and talk?” Mr. Thought and I get to talking about Heaven. Finally, Mr. Thought says, “Hey, Ed. I have a suggestion.” “You do? What?” I ask him, my eyes large and wondering. “Well… just pray and ask God to let you see what Heaven Is like – you know, first hand. Think of it as asking the Lord to give you a personal guided tour.” Mr. Thought gets up and vanishes in the party. I watch him melt into the crowd, thinking how presumptuous of me to ask the God of the whole universe, the God of creation to give me a guided tour of Heaven! I wondered, not knowing what to ask God. My simple, child-like prayer lasted less than ten seconds. My ancient computer hummed. The ham radio crackled, and rain beat upon the window. In my chair I leaned my head back, closed my eyes, and petitioned God who created the entire universe, this prayer: “May I see Heaven? Lord, show me the beauty of Heaven. Let me see it. Allow me to touch it, and breathe its air. Permit me to drink the water, and see your light. Let me stand and take in the beauty of your Heaven.” I believe that what God allowed me to experience was His excitement to show his children the exquisite prize they will inherit. The Lord answered my prayer, precisely! What Heaven Is Not… Let me offer a few things that we will NOT experience in Heaven. I think you will agree with me on a few things I present here about what Heaven Is not. I’ll present several “ain’ts” and I am sure you could add some ain’ts of your own. 1. The first ain’t is that there are no thieves in Heaven. Because there will be no thieves there will be no locks, cops, and guns. There will be no jails or keys. 2. There ain’t gonna be no liars in Heaven. With no liars around whispering in your ear, or smiling, crafty politicians lying, saying, “Everyone will get a healthy lunch… everyday… for free!” There will be no, “He said… She said…” Lying goes hand in hand with being a thief. Lying creates ego and lying is used to cover up a wrong that you know you committed. So, there ain’t gonna be no lying in Heaven! 3. There Ain’t gonna be no jealous people where Heaven Is! 4. There Ain’t no bad things happening in Heaven. There will be no house fires in Heaven and so there will not be any insurance policies. Without house fires there will be no fire stations. And since house fires sometime cause injuries, there will not be any doctors or nurses. Do you see where this simple line of logic is going?
  • 19. Revelation 21:4 states - “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away!” I had five days off from work. I am a licensed ham radio enthusiast and so I talked to some other hams from around the world. A bedroom needed painting that I painted sky blue. I helped my wife to clean parts of the house, fixed a drippy faucet, and enjoyed my week vacation from the Army National Guard. I went to bed on what seemed to be a normal Saturday evening. And then… Follow Me… “Come with me,” the smiling angel said. “The Lord has instructed me to show your inheritance to you, an answer to your prayer.” The man stood tall and sturdy. His face shined bright. His garment glowed bright and beautiful. Yet I do not remember seeing his face. However, I do remember his smile. That smile of his was a smile of infinite wonder, a perfect smile. Limitless divine love drove his smile. His entire being was happy. As he smiled, I realized later that his mouth had never known a frown, pursed lips, or an evil sneer. A jeering twist had never formed on the angel’s lips. His smile was a sunbeam made of joy. The smile of this angel conveyed an “I know what the Lord has in store for you” quality. The smile, perhaps in his eons of life, had been quiet, inactive, serene, and in a state of quiescence in its untold ages of existence. The angel’s lips had never mouthed a harsh word; nor anger; nor malice. His young adult face looked happy but carefree as a young child. Brightness shined from his face. He was not white like a Caucasian person. But his face dazzled with brilliance because of being near, Jesus, who is Light. 1 John 1:5 – This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. His skin was not any earth color, white, black, or dark. There was no human racial-ness to him. His skin glowed bright from within. But his light did not blind me. His glow radiated love, joy, and warmth. His brightness mirrored his spirit. I suspect that seeing all of his face was was not the point of his visit. The angel’s glow shined through his white robe and caused his robe to dazzle. He made a motion with his hand for me to follow him, and he said, “Come. Follow me.” The angel was cordial, expressive, and patient with me during the entire time I spent with him. And he was always very close. The angel stood by my left side most of the time, as did the angel in my 1977 dream. He had a job to do. He had a mission to accomplish. The whole purpose was to escort and guide me. He did not say his name and I failed to ask him. But I knew he was an angel of God; a messenger from above; a messenger from Heaven. Upon meeting someone for the first time, I forget
  • 20. to ask his or her name. Had he told me his name, I may have forgotten it anyway. I have thought about that angel over these past twenty-one years. He was neither Jesus nor God. If he had been the Lord he would have told me. I believe the “man” was an angel, a messenger sent by the Lord to escort me to where Heaven Is. Let’s face it, any new place you visit you will need a map, someone who knows the way, or a GPS! Therefore, it was that an angel of the Lord, an emissary from Heaven stepped onto this planet, woke me up, and guided me into Heaven. He allowed me to sniff Heaven’s pure air, wade into a dazzling river. With a child-like delight, I touched things, and saw marvelous things. Indeed, without his watchful guidance, I am sure I would have become lost and wandered into some sort of trouble if I had been on my own! He motioned to me with a flick of his wrist. “Follow me.” He said, “I am here to show you a wondrous sight.” I sat up in bed and then found myself standing face-to-face, eye-to-eye. I was not afraid to follow this fellow anywhere. While my soul and spirit traveled, my body lay in quiet slumber. Before leaving with the angel, I looked back to my bed. I saw myself, my body, and beside my body lay my wife sleeping peacefully. The angel knew what I was thinking and said, “Your body and your wife will be safe. Another angel is watching and guarding both of you.” Beside my wife stood a giant of an angel, his head touched the bedroom ceiling. He was transparent, sort of half-invisible and half-visible. Ghost-like, translucent. With my new X-ray Superman eyes, I could see the through the angel to bookshelf behind him! Traveling the Stars We flew through the starry heavens on a path, a ladder, or a stairway. We traveled forward at a great speed. Whatever the method, I did not have any sensation of walking or flying, or something moving me. I was moving along and standing erect. Our surroundings were as if inside a tunnel; a walled tunnel made of brilliant, stars. Each star was bright. Standing, moving forward I realized that every star shined a different color. I realized there were star colors that I did not recognize. Now as then, I cannot describe them, but they were not of the normal red, green, yellow, and blue spectrum. They whizzed by us at a fantastic, blurry speed. I asked him, “Where are we? His mater-of-fact reply was, “We are on the Highway to Heaven.” There was a television program with that same title and I wish the angel had not called it a Highway to Heaven. I sit typing and thinking that, you my reader, are thinking this entire story is a story of fiction. But, I tell you, “No! ‘tis not an invented story.” The angel said, “… a highway to Heaven.” As fantastic as my story sounds, it is a true account that happened to me. As I became accustomed to the whizzing stars – I turned around facing earth and witnessed our round, blue marble. It was a three-quarter ball of darkened Earth far below us. The Earth was becoming smaller and smaller, a Hope Diamond resting upon black velvet. Our direction could have been northward beyond the Earth. However, the enfolding stars became more intense. The more they dazzled, the quicker we seemed to be moving. With a holy beauty, the otherworld stars shined and shimmered, full of colorful glory. Those ethereal stars outshined the bland stars that God allows to shine upon Earth. A veil of supernatural stars swallowed up the Earth. They were like bags of colored Christmas glitter that someone had
  • 21. spilled. But, God had placed these unusual, glittery stars, scattering them throughout the deep ebony colored Heavens to shield Earth. Then we stopped. The Mountain Of Stars If I had already been facing forward, I would have observed The Scene. Mesmerized, I seemed to be standing on something solid. But I had stood gazing backwards at the stars that had just swallowed the Earth in a kaleidoscope of brilliant colors. The Earth had melted away behind a mass of gorgeous, glistening stars. Still facing the wrong way, I asked the angel, “Why did we stop?” “Turn around,” the angel said, whose inaudible voice seemed to chuckle. I turned around to face a most amazing sight. The angel stretched his arm outward and downward. His palm turned upward, just like the angel in my 1977 dream. With a giant sweep of his hand from left to right, he stated, “Behold!” Facing forward I beheld The Scene. My eyes feasted on a huge spherical globe! I fixed my clouded eyes upon a spectacular, panoramic view of God’s house. Our inheritance; paradise lost. The whole thing was bright and rich. Its sacred beauty filled my soul. Yet, although I can and will describe all that I saw, (see Drawing 2), there was much that left me with a book-full of tempting questions. Valley of Stars Upward the angel had led me to a place he said was, “The Mountain of Stars.” We had stopped to rest a moment and to look out over the magical splendor of the Valley of Stars. Yes, Heaven Is nestled, in a cozy, beautiful valley. The light of graceful stars seemed to be there just to praise their creator. “Why is Heaven down in a valley?” I asked the angel. He stated, “Now, Heaven Is in a valley to hide it from the prying eyes of man. We have just passed through the stars that hide God’s house. It is God’s peak of created perfection in all of the heavens. It will soon be seen by all people.” The angel was referring to Heaven as God’s finest creation in space. God’s finest physical creation in the heavens is His house. Here, one must utter a big, “Duh!” If you were to build a house, you would construct it with the best materials available. The barn however, might be of rough timber with doors that whistle when the wind blows. I know I would build my estate like that. The house He built is the most awesome thing! 1 Corinthians 2:9 – But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. That scripture is correct. My eyes… had never seen such a place! A big cathedral spinning in space it is not. It is not a slick platform of gold with God engulfed in a holy plume of smoke. Nor is this place a blast of light that knocks you down. No, it is none of these things. I was amazed! I never would have guessed that a transparent golden sphere holds the insides of Heaven. Enclosed inside this sphere is God’s house, New Jerusalem. My language fails in its inadequacy to describe the things I saw. It is a colossal thing to see; to understand.
  • 22. The Golden Sphere “The sphere is of pure gold,” the angel stated. He knew what I was thinking, because he answered before I could ask him. The sphere, the best I can describe it, is like a bubble; like the bubble we used to play with in the back yard. You would hold a circular ring by its handle and dip it into a soapy solution. Pull it out of the suds and blow into the center of the ring. Presto. Smiles. Oooohs. Laughter. We created a shimmering bubble! Though made of gold there was a changing multi-colored effect playing upon the sphere. It was an awesome colorful light show. Colors flashed, like sheets of lightning. They shimmered around the golden sphere. The workings of Heaven are not on the outside surface of the bubble. Life and activity exists upon the outside surface of the earth. The workings of Heaven are inside the sphere. I could see through the golden sphere onto the most beautiful spring-green land. Drawing 2 depicts the living area of Heaven. Looking like an electrified jewel embedded in the center of the circular land stood a city-cube of dazzling, colorful, golden splendor! Awesome rainbows of inexpressible colors flowed over, around, and into the city-cube. Almost all scriptures in the Bible refer to Heaven as “… in Heaven.” There are 247 references to, “in Heaven” and zero references to “on Heaven.” There are two scriptures from God’s word. They will help substantiate the sphere I described. The book of Job describes Heaven’s circularity. Job 22:14 - Thick clouds cover Him, so that He cannot see, And He walks above the circle of heaven. The other scripture is in the Psalms - Psalm 19:6 - His going forth [is] from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof. The word circuit is described in the (take your pick of dictionaries) as bounds, area, circle, compass, and round. Those two verses indicate that Heaven Is round, circular and that the Lord is inside, or enclosed within. I ask, “Reader, do you get it?” Reader replies “Got it.” I say, “Good!” Heaven’s gold is not the gold that comes from a gold mine as here on earth. It is not like the gold on a watch or like the gold on a wedding ring. Heaven’s gold is clear, yet having a golden look. I could clearly see through the pure golden sphere, a transparent gold. Earth’s gold is a dull shadow of Heaven’s marvelous gold. Joys and beauties are shadows of real and lasting things in Heaven. Sin, hate, and wars are the dark shadows of things to come that unbelievers will experience in Hell, but with more intensity, and forever. I saw two chief colors through the gold sphere. One color was of a brighter radiant gold and the
  • 23. other was a green that this earth is incapable of displaying. A rainbow of dancing colors zipped across the surface of the sphere. They dazzled like lightning across the whole expanse of the golden bubble. The sphere radiated a warm, colorful glow of loving gold color that advertised, “God Lives Here!” Stop. Think about that. Have you ever stood outside and watched a glowing sunset? And have you seen a sunset with brilliant, molten gold, and with yellows and reds? Long golden beams of sunshine dazzle the edges of white clouds. Fingers of golden light that radiate outward into the evening sky. The golden light from the bubble was a spectacle of superior beauty; more enthralling than any sunset or sunrise I have ever seen. The gold sphere itself does not shine. The light originates from a huge and colorful cube-shaped city from within the beautiful crystal bubble. The surrounding stars emitted their pinpoints of white light, and the bubble imparted a golden glow throughout the Valley of Stars. Brilliant beams of white and gold light formed a pure and holy aura that surrounded the sphere. The aura of it all was a shimmering beautiful rainbow, colored with different hues of gold and other unspeakable colors. All of the colors looked delicious, edible in a curious sort of way. As beautiful as it was, it is not humanly possible to describe the surrounding aura. The Holy City I have counted approximately 37 Biblical name variations of the Holy City. Revelation 3:12 comes to mind. I will use several of the names – yet it is all the same place – The Holy City. The angel explained to me that, “The city you see inside is New Jerusalem. It is Heaven’s Heart. The Father and the Lord Jesus are inside on their thrones. The surrounding land is called Paradise.” I saw the cubical city, New Jerusalem, sitting at the center of Paradise within the sphere. The heart of Heaven, New Jerusalem, is like a flawless gem resting upon a brilliant, spring-green velvet land. New Jerusalem is a very desirable and exquisite jewel nestled on a green satin lining inside a jewel box. Psalm 84:2 – My soul longs, yea, even faints for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh cries out for the living God. The Courts of the Lord glowed. The Courts were so beautiful, far beyond anything I have ever seen or imagined. Beautiful, splendid, and magnificent do not justify my description. Magical beams of light, emanating from New Jerusalem, shone in every direction. They poked their shining fingers of living light into places were shadows can never darken. The city’s shape had the look of a colorful, bright cube. Its colors were bright. Its hues were more than the colors of a springtime rainbow. The colors were not those of an Earth rainbow. Other colors dazzled. Colors I have never seen. These new colors were indescribable! The city sparkled like a pure cut crystal diamond. Bright and shiny are such dull words! Simply put, the golden city glowed with a precious beauty. It gleamed and glittered within the gold sphere. The many hues of unspeakable colors shone through the golden crystal that enveloped the whole of Paradise and the City of God, New Jerusalem. Land of Paradise From my perspective and distance upon the Mountain of Stars, Paradise appeared flat. However,
  • 24. as the angel and I flew closer, Paradise revealed ‘wrinkles’ that proved later in my visit to be hills and valleys. Paradise is a disk of thick land fitted inside the sphere. Its disk-like look reminds me of child’s toy gyroscope. The green velvet of Paradise’s outer edges touched the inside wall of the sphere. The color of the edge, the dirt, was a deep brownish-black, as good dirt should be. Although the disk seemed thin, the land is about three or four times as thick as New Jerusalem. Revelation, 21:16 says – The city is laid out as a square; its length is as great as its breadth. And he measured the city with the reed: twelve thousand furlongs. Its length, breadth, and height are equal. The city is twelve-thousand furlongs, which is about one thousand five hundred miles long (1931 km) and is the same in height. So the disk of land would be about six-thousand miles thick, (9656 km). The diameter of the sphere is enormous. I calculated from the center of the sphere to the City, there could be fitted twenty New Jerusalem’s. Therefore, the distance from the city to the outer edge of the sphere would be thirty-thousand miles, (48,280 km). The diameter of the sphere would be sixty thousand miles across, (96,560 km)! Another comparative measurement to give you an idea just how large the Sphere of Heaven Is, consider that the earth is only eight thousand miles in diameter, (12,875 km). The planet of Saturn is seventy five thousand miles in diameter, (12,700 km). From my description, you know that the city of New Jerusalem is inside and centered in the sphere. Surrounding the city is a land of indescribable rich and green beauty. Heaven’s air flows within the top half of the sphere. Beneath the Land Beneath the disk of land, the angel indicated that the bottom half contained water, but not the earth kind of water. So, I asked, “What do you mean water, but not like earth water?” The angel replied, saying, “The water is not what you know. It is a different kind of water that you do not know about.” Then he offered this explanation of the water. “It is water that is not under God’s curse. God’s Word, your Bible, calls it the Water of Life. It is Living Water.” Later I was to understand what Living Water does! It is impossible to describe in words what I saw next. It defies my personal imagination, because what I saw seemed impossible, unbelievable. Yet if you think about it, the following description is consistent with many heavenly bodies have in common: orbiting moons, rings, and belts of dust. Orbiting the Sphere On the outside of the golden sphere, there are bands of islands circling the sphere, such as like our Earth’s moon. The islands are different sizes and shapes and generally follow the curvature of the sphere. Their general shapes were curved and oblong. Their orbits followed the roundness of the outside of the golden sphere. Some islands seemed smaller than New Jerusalem, while others could hold many cubical cities. Like the rings of Saturn, the floating islands orbit at the sphere’s equator. They extend outward, about half the diameter of the sphere. The angel and I scooted closer. I cannot say for sure, but we were far away from the Sphere of Heaven. Perhaps we were some one hundred thousand miles from the outer sphere. But I can’t be sure as time and space seemed different from the Earth’s. With super speed, we arrived at the outer part of the beautiful sphere. Consider our speed. We zoomed as if you were looking through a camera lens, or a pair of zoom binoculars, and you quickly adjust the zoom to get a closer look.
  • 25. Leaving the Mountain of Stars and traveling to the outer part of the sphere both the angel and I seemed to arrive within the time of a slow blink of the eyes. But my eyes were wide open, astonished. I could see that the general color of the islands were a dark and lush green. The green color is darker than the spring-like green inside the sphere. Less light, maybe? I did not see any water surrounding them, but at their outer edges lay that rich, dark brown dirt, like the dirt of the disk. We did not stop to visit any of the islands. But I wish we could have. We flew from the Mountain of Stars downward toward the right side of the sphere and passed low over a few of the islands. I could see the dark, deep green color. The verdant lush color was because of the thick forests and grasslands. Weird? Yes, I thought so!
  • 26. Drawing 2: The Sphere of Heaven. The upper half is air; bottom half contains the Water of Life; center disk is Paradise; and the square cube is New Jerusalem, measuring 1500 miles in all four dimensions! Rather than orbiting moons, Heaven
  • 27. Entering the Sphere I have often wondered about what happened next, because what occurred is that I cannot remember where, or how, we entered the sphere and then stood upon the velvety feel of Paradise. Was it a door? Was it a giant pearly gate? Hmm. There are twelve gates of pearl to enter New Jerusalem. But I will always wonder about the golden sphere. Did the angel put me to sleep so he could unlock some mysterious, secret entryway? Touchdown on Paradise Next, I found myself standing upon the vast green plain I had seen from the Mountain of Stars. I stood on a soft carpet of indescribable beauty. In the distance, there were trees growing at the edge of a forest, the tree’s branches heavy with bright colorful leaves. The woodlands glowed bright with a rainbow of colors. Some colors I had never seen before. They shined as if backlit by the early rising sun. Their twinkling leaves grew from limbs from the tops to the bottom, touching the soft, green carpet, looking like tall tree-bushes. The field I stood upon was in the midst of a beautiful and delightful spring day. Perhaps it is spring all the time… always in full bloom. Revelation 22:2 says - “In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded their fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.” My eyes thrilled as I took in the striking wild-hued flowers of all varieties and shapes. They dotted themselves against the vivid green grass. Like the tree leaves, the flowers sparkled from within. I saw that each leaf and petal glowed from their interiors, as if lit by an brilliant electric light. I did not feel cold, nor did I feel too warm. The temperature, it seemed, was perfect. The crystal air was clear, was pure, and sweet smelling. It was a perfect day in Heaven. Oh, what a peaceful and tranquil morning it was. Mind you, it was about 2:00 a.m. where I had been sleeping. A refreshing calmness saturated and permeated everything. Calm enveloped my whole being. Inside the sphere, the light cast a certain golden touch of a morning sunrise. The whole environment was peaceful and quiet. There was an overwhelming blessed and stunning silence. At my feet, grew colorful flowers with four large petals each. They mingled with the bright, vivid, sparkling green grass. The grass glistened with sparkling drops of dew. See Drawing 3. The grass was a couple of inches tall and the flowers a few inches above the grass. My feet sank into the cool, velvety soft lawn. This had to be someone’s manicured lawn, for I did not see any ugly, thorny weeds. Nothing was out of place. All was in perfect orderliness and harmony. The beauty of it all was astonishing. Nowhere did I see a dead blade of grass or a wilting flower petal. Infinite rays of colorful light permeated everything. It seemed that every colorful thing I saw seemed bright from within. Their colors excited my eyes. My eyes danced about looking everywhere for new colors, a kid in a candy shop! I took a deep, deep breath of air. What my lungs (Remember, I could see, hear, smell, too) took in was a soft and cool, and sweet breath of air. It was invigorating, like fresh spring air just after a morning rain. I looked up to the sky. The sky was bright and golden as if the sun had just set. It was
  • 28. inside of the great golden sphere. Above, a lightning storm of iridescent colors chased with wild abandon across the expanse of vaulted hemisphere. Yet there was no thunder. It was more beautiful than any sunset I had ever remembered. Sweet rays of color painted every living thing. I looked upward for the sun, but could not find it hanging in the golden sky. The light emanating from New Jerusalem beamed everywhere to the inner sides of the sphere. Those light rays reflected from the inner sphere giving Heaven its shadowless light. Revelation 21:23 explains this light: “And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.” This is where I wanted to stay… forever! “Where are we?” I asked the angel, “Where’s the sun? It’s so very beautiful here.” I said with an incredulous tone of voice, mixed with joyous abandon. Heavenly City, New Jerusalem The angel said, “You’re standing in Heaven’s Paradise. Look up and straight ahead and you will see New Jerusalem. The light you see is from God who is within the city.” When I looked up and straight ahead, I became aware of New Jerusalem, that golden cubical city of light I had seen from atop the Mountain of Stars. From out of the City, light radiated. It illuminated the whole of the Heavenly sphere. The shining light, a colorful bouquet of light gives brightness to the inside of the sphere and beyond. Its aura is a magnificent, golden quality, and its multi-colored golden light engulfs all of the sphere and the gives light and warmth to the islands that orbit Heaven.
  • 29. Drawing 3: After looking at the stunning flowers, the angel directed my attention towards New Jerusalem and this picture is approximately the scene I saw. Beautiful, huh?
  • 30. The light from the city is a supernatural light; a light of God’s Love. Rays of Holy light bounce off the inside of the sphere. They scatter... everywhere! It finds dark shadows and cheerfully paints them with loving brightness. The light waivers and scintillates and oscillates. Those are large and complicated words to just enjoy God’s holy light. It proclaims that Heaven Is the House of the Lord, and it beams its praises back toward Him. “We are standing on the outer edge of Paradise.” The angel proclaimed. “You asked God to let you experience Heaven. See for yourself its magnificence, and let your joy soar with the sight of New Jerusalem. This is your inheritance. It will be yours to walk on and live in with Jesus.” I looked ahead toward the holy city. New Jerusalem is a commanding city of holy light. The pure gold sphere filtered the light that I was looking at from the Mountain of Stars. Now I could see the light as God intended it to be. The city is an immense cube. I believe that where I was standing was looking straight at one of its four corners. This gave the illusion the cubed city had a peaked type roof, or a pyramid shaped structure. Its brightness is extraordinary, but its intensity did not hurt my eyes. The light is complimentary to the eyes. They soaked in the light, as skin soaks up the sunlight here on earth. It did not burn or hurt my eyes to look at it, such as looking into the sun on earth. I saw the city atop the rising land. The land slopes upward toward the City. This awesome sight was unhindered by the hills or the line of forest. According to the Bible, each side of the city is fifteen hundred miles long; the height of the cubical city is also fifteen hundred miles high! From the Mountain of Stars, I remembered seeing “wrinkles” on Paradise. These wrinkles turned out to be hills and mountains in various places upon the vast green carpet when observed standing on Paradise. A green blanket dotted with wild colors rise upward toward the city. Regardless of the climb toward the City, it will be easy for anyone to travel and see the Lord Jesus. John wrote - Revelation 7:17 - “For the Lamb, Jesus, which is in the midst of the throne, shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.” New Colors And Living Light ‘Living’ is a good word that describes the manner of the light and how it was spangled with divine spark and vitality. The light was not hot, nor even warm. Yet, it did fill me with a sense of eternal and forever love. This light embraced me, and it embraced everything around me. The light shone on me with love and life. The light from earth’s sun is the sum of all the colors we know, and when we dare look at the sun’s harsh light, it burns our eyes and heats our faces. You do not see its individual colors, except with a prism. You see the sum of the colors as white. The sum of the light from the city is white, but it is a colorful white light. Here, I am trying to explain the impossible! It is a white light full of beautiful colors. Of course, I saw red, blue, green, and yellow. There were other colors, too; colors that I have never seen. I wish that you could see inside my brain those new colors when I close my eyes! They are colors; colors glorified. When I close my eyes, I thirst for that place of supernatural colors. We do not see those colors here on earth. We see that our sun emits a white light. It is the sum of all of its colors.
  • 31. Heaven’s wonderful light is hard to describe; a Godly, Holy, majestic sort of ‘stuff’! On earth, we do not enjoy a light that is all of these attributes: life, love, and full of color. Pure Clean Air The air was the most refreshing I have ever inhaled. It smelled sweet and pure. Inhaling the delicious scented air was fresher than a fresh whiff of stimulating sea breeze and sweeter than the moist, fragrant air following a spring rain. The air was clearer than the air in the high Sierra Mountains of California. “This is pure air. It is living air. This air has no dust,” the angel explained. The air we breathe on earth is dusty and impure. Earth’s air has dust particles and all sorts of pollution floating in it. If you think that the air in your home is clean, it is not. The next time you see a ray of sunshine flooding through a window look through the light into a dark part of the room. You will see trillions of particles of dust and other unhealthy things that swirl about in YOUR home’s clean air. My lungs sucked in the rich air. I took several deep breaths. “NO! Don’t breathe too hard.” The angel warned. “You will not be able to sleep for many days. Your body will tire more easily.” Prostrate I Prayed Embarrassed, I asked what seemed like the right thing to do at this point. I was like a child asking if the house I saw was God’s, I asked the angel, “Is that God’s house,” as I pointed toward the cubical city of Light. The smiling angel’s reply was a simple, “Yes.” “May I pray to Him? From here?” I asked the angel. “The Lord is expecting you to talk to Him.” The angel replied. I took another deep breath of sweet air and fell prostrate upon the cool, cotton-soft grass. To either side of me grew some colorful flowers. Though I do not believe, or remember, that I saw Jesus, I lay prostrate, and I had the sensation that my hands were within inches of His feet. There were zero distractions to hinder the communication with my Creator. My spirit talked to God. I do not remember what I said, or asked of God. I could have been praising Him. Praising God on Earth is more difficult to accomplish. Let me explain. Interference hinders our prayers on earth. The most notable thing I can think of is Satan himself. Life also becomes distracting, too. You find yourself listening to your heartbeat. You tongue explores the mouth and finds something between the teeth. It plays with the particle while trying to pry it loose. “Pray! “ Your spirit insists. “Pray! “ But your mind can wander about concerned about an unpaid bill. Prayer, in comparison to being in Heaven and praying, is quite difficult here on earth. As I prayed, the Lord gave me a vision of a beautiful mansion somewhere in Heaven, which I will describe later. Can You Hear The Music? There are numerous Bible references to “making a joyful noise unto the Lord.” One of them is in Psalm 95. With great delight it says, Psalm 95:2 - “Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise to the Rock of our salvation.”
  • 32. At some point when I finished praying to Him, I found myself kneeling, my buttocks sitting upon the heels of my feet. Again I looked around at Paradise, inhaling another fresh and exhilarating breath of air. Now what happened next, I will never forget. Do you remember a time when you may have sat upon the grass and rubbed your hand over it to feel its softness? Remember how the grass made a swishing sound when you passed your hand over it? Also, you may have gotten unwanted things on your hand like dirt, bugs, or gritty moisture. Grass First, let me describe the grass. Yes it was green: spring fresh, green. The feel of the grass was soft like velvet, fur, soft moss, and even feeling a bit like soft cotton. It smelled clean and fresh, and yes, it smelled green! Reminiscing, I remember that I could feel the colors as well as see colors, but I remember that I could smell the green color. For that matter I could feel, see, and smell all of the colors. Hmm. I wonder if colors taste delicious. Upon a closer inspection at a blade of grass, it seemed that it was translucent green. Translucent means it lets light through, but you cannot see through it clearly. This grass was like frosted green glass, or plastic. As I became aware of the grass and the flowers, a gentle breeze wafted past. As the peaceful wind drifted about me, I could hear and feel the grass and the flowers singing… in unison, with one harmonious voice! The angel observed my amazement. He laughed and said, “Heaven Is a joyful place. Everything in Heaven praises the Lord.” Air Flow The angel continued, “When the air moves in Heaven, it praises the Lord. It vibrates the grass, the flowers, and the trees, and all together they rejoice with one accord, praising our Lord.” The gentle wind moved over and around the blades of grass. The flower petals trembled… with joy. The grass vibrated. And the grass and flowers became like wind chimes, as if wired together to ping and ding, tinkle and jingle, and bong and dong. The wind plucked invisible musical strings. A choir of living grasses and flowers rose up in sweet unison, all in harmony. The sound of joyous music arose from around my feet! Flowers Thrilled and with much reverence I stayed seated upon my bent knees. Stretching out my fingers, I put my hands down into the cool grass beside me. The grass looked as if it was wet with dew. I swooshed my hands back and forth. The bending of the green grass caused the brilliant flowers to flop about, send majestic music into the air. The dew, perhaps more like sparkling diamonds than drops of water, twinkled and scattered into the air like tiny silver stars. I swooshed the grass back and forth. Oh! What joy I had rubbing my hands against the flowers and grass! The grass and the flowers did not break with the weight and movement of my hands. They would bend and spring upright sending more twinkling stars into the air. Listen to the noise the grass makes. Listen. It is a holy sound from Heaven! Listen carefully… The movement of my hands through the grass did not make an earthly swooshing sound. It made a tinkling sound. Each blade, each flower petal pinged aloud with a different musical note as if from a music box, or the tinkling of a wind chime. They emitted high, middle, and low notes. The best sound I can make with words is that the grass and the wild colored flowers performed a
  • 33. magical musical, a concert of joyful noise unto the Lord! I passed my hands over the grass faster and faster. A single finger could tease them into wild symphonies, much like directing a choir singing in harmony with a thousand voices. So, did you hear the music? The Fly Over The angel touched me on my shoulder and said in a laughing tone of voice, “Ed, time on earth is progressing and the Lord has instructed me to show you more of Heaven.” In an instant, we flew above the surface of Paradise’s stunning green. I have had flying lessons in a Cessna 172 and I can remember estimating the elevation. But, back to my Heavenly story. We flew, but not the instant type of flying, from point A to point B as in the slow blinking of an eye as we had done from the Mountain of Stars. We flew at a relaxed pace, and we seemed to be flying at about 1500 feet above the ground. Beneath us passed hills, paths and roads, rivers and creeks, and dense forest. The scene below was amazing. The sparkling bright green grass below shimmered with bright magic. The trees sparkled in brilliance, ablaze with hues no mortal artist could mix. A creek below passed beneath shining, glittering, as molten gold. The air smelled sensual. New Jerusalem’s colored bands of lights glowed upon everything. The Mansion The angel pointed down toward a pretty, country home. “Look,” he said, pointing down, as if he were a pilot pointing out something special to his co-pilot. “There is your mansion, Ed.” I gazed downward at the scene. My spirit shivered with joy. “My place! My place in the stars. My place in Heaven. My forever home!” From the size of the borders the whole land seemed, by a ’thumbs reckoning‘, I guess, about twenty acres. Well… It could be more or less, but what does the size matter. I think I would be just as happy with a tent at the back door of Heaven. Remember the place where the angel sneaked me through, as opposed to the alternative, Hell. Psalm 84:10 says – “For a day in Your courts is better than anywhere else. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness.” There it was. Pointing toward the sky was that tall tower that I first told you about in my 1977 dream with its high and wide windows. Topping the tower was a steep, conical roof. Beside the tower was a huge home with different styled roofs, slanting roofs, and hip roofs, and gable roofs, and others. Its many windows reflected the glow from the golden sky and the brilliant light from the cubical of New Jerusalem where the Lord sits on His throne. A very awesome green grass flourished in gorgeous splendor on the land. Surrounding the home were beautiful flower gardens. The colors of the flowers sparkled and dazzled. There were many varieties of flowers and an enormous range of brilliant, indescribable colors. Winding about the land were glittering footpaths. Some paths met in a circular roundabout. Within an oval roundabout, there was a structure that looked like a gazebo. There were two bright colored, sparkling pools of water. The pools caught the sky and shimmered golden. A breathtaking stream, alive with a million sparkling colors, flowed between two opposite borders of the land. It disappeared beneath the glimmering leaves of a thick and lush forest.
  • 34. Silently, the mansion passed beneath us as if we were flying in that Cessna 172, but without its noisy six-cylinder gasoline engine, sounding like an airborne lawnmower. The River Of Life This amazing thing happened. After the angel had pointed out the mansion, he and I landed at the edge of a shining, sparkling golden river. I stood there not knowing what was happening. Remember, I’m the new guy on the block, so to speak. What appeared to be a small park was where I saw my first Heavenly people. There were children and adults enjoying a relaxed afternoon, about twenty people in all, at the park. They were having fun. Some young children frolicked in the deeper part of the river, not drowning, just splashing, laughing, and having a riot of fun. No one in particular seemed anxious for the children’s safety. Some people sat on the edge of the river talking, their feet dangling in the water. Some just sat on the grass talking. I heard some people laughing as though they were amazed at themselves for being in Heaven. Well… at the time, then, it was difficult to describe and to understand the people’s extreme happiness. Now, reflecting back to that wonderful place beside the river, I know why those people were happy. They were over-joyous! They were in Heaven because they put their faith in the saving power of the blood of Jesus Christ. They believed that Jesus died upon the cross to forgive their sins. And for their faith and belief, they were being rewarded with the gift of eternal life. Gently, the angel took my hand and led me to the edge of the river. The angel took my hand and led me into the river. With a gentle tug, we walked deeper and deeper into the water until the surface was over our heads. Breathing was not an issue, for I could breathe as if breathing the fresh air above. “I can breathe!” I said, astonished. I spoke to the angel underwater, in clear tones without my words sounding bubbly. It was as if we were underwater but in the air all at the same time. “You are standing in the River of Life. It is of the Spirit of God. It washes away the scars of sin. It gives life to your spirit. You shall never thirst with this water. It flows from the Spirit of the Living God, feeding the Trees of Life.” I do not know how long we were under water, as I did not have a watch strapped on my wrist. Finally, we walked out of the life-giving flow of everlasting, living water that soaked into my soul and spirit with God’s everlasting life and the cleansing forgiveness of a sin-ravaged soul. I felt clean, sinless, and alive! John 4:14 reads: But whosoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. As we emerged from the River of Life, I noticed that I was not dripping wet! There were four or five young people sitting at the edge of the river. When I rose up from the surface, they were all smiling. One of them said something to me, but his speech was garbled and I could not understand him. The angel said, “You cannot understand him because it is unlawful for you hear what he is saying. It is not lawful for a living man to hear and repeat what he is saying.” 2 Corinthians 12:4 says - How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.
  • 35. To Leave or Not To Leave The angel touched me on my right shoulder and announced in a rather delighted, happy sounding voice, “Come on, Ed, it is time to return you to earth. If we do not leave now, you will be drunk with the Lord’s Goodness for too many days.” “Wait!” I thought, “I’m almost home!” My mansion, prepared by Jesus, stood somewhere beyond the walls of that beautiful city, New Jerusalem. I thought to myself, “Just walk to the City. I’ll be with Jesus, forever!” What else would I see inside the city? Would I see mansions built of precious stones? Where were those streets in the book of Revelation that describe streets paved with pure gold? Maybe I could find some relatives soaking up life from the rivers of that living water. The glory inside Heaven would be mine to explore forever. It did not matter if the city was a thousand miles away! But, alas, I could not stay. My earth body was not worn out, sick or ready to die. My family, friends, and co-workers still needed me. Besides, God said He wanted me to write this amazing glimpse of Heaven Is, and for you to read it! Yes! God was thinking of you, my dear reader! Headed Back to Bed “Must I go? I’m home!” I said to the angel, pleading to stay. The angel touched me, and in that same instant, we both stood on the Mountain of Stars at the head of the Highway to Heaven. At the Mountain of Stars, I turned around and with a yearning desire looked back toward the sphere nestled within the Valley of Heaven. My eyes made a panoramic sweep across its glorious beauty. I took my last, homesick look at the Sphere of Heaven. The green of Paradise contrasted pleasantly with Heaven’s general gold colors. The cubical city, New Jerusalem, was radiating an amazing dance of colorful, white light from the Spirit of the Lord. I knew, however, I would return someday and forever. We sped down the Highway to Heaven and the next thing I knew, I was waking up with a rushing, joyful bubbly new beginning. Awake My whole being was alive. In an instant awoke. My spirit sang and praised God. I looked at my clock, which read 3:32 a.m. The angel was correct about not sleeping. I did not sleep for the remainder of that night. When someone sees a movie they like very much, they watch it again and again. For many, many months afterward, I would wake up after sleeping for about an hour and a half. I would remember and savor every single detail as it had happened. The details have never faded from my mind, (except that 1977 dream). After 22 years I can still remember my trip to where Heaven Is. Someday Every day, since visiting my Father’s kingdom, I know that earth is not a permanent place. Heaven Is our eternal home and a holy, joyful place. As the days and years have passed, I find myself thinking about what I saw and how wonderful it will be to live there forever. Hebrews 11:16 says this - “But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore, God is not ashamed
  • 36. to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.” When I think about Heaven and being with Jesus, I get warm and joyous sensations flowing from my inward spirit to my outward body. Instead of shivers of cold, I get shivers of joyous warmth. It seems that since my spirit was absent from my body, that my spirit is always restless to bid my earth- body, bio-body, goodbye. God said to me, “Write about your visit to Heaven for My glory.” Heaven Is a joyful place. The next time you are enjoying the green grass at home, remember that the grass IS greener on the other side and it makes a… …concert of joyful noise to the Lord! Getting There You wanna go there? Curious about seeing more of Heaven? You need to be saved; you need to be born again – Do this: say the words below and mean them with all of your heart. The Lord is waiting for you. He loves you and wants you to live in eternal life with Him. Salvation is now, not tomorrow when you feel better; not next year when you think times may be better. God says in 2 Corinthians 6:2: For He says: "In an acceptable time I have heard you, and in the day of salvation I have helped you." Behold, NOW is the accepted time; behold, NOW is the day of salvation. Let’s face it. You or I do not know when the proverbial brick will fall upon our head and send us into eternity! Right now, wherever you are, repent; lift your heart to God in prayer… Just say these words to God and believe them in your heart. Taste and savor each individual word. Get Your Ticket God, I know I am a sinner. I believe Jesus was my substitute when He died on the Cross. I believe His shed blood, death, burial, and resurrection were for me. I now receive Jesus as my Savior. I thank You for the forgiveness of my sins, the gift of salvation and everlasting life, because of Your merciful grace. Amen. Believe, and you will be saved. The Biblical reference for the above is Romans, chapter 10, versus 9 ~ 13: 9: That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. 10: For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation. 11: For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”
  • 37. 12: For there is no distinction between the Jew and the Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13: For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved!” No church, no membership, no good works can save you. Remember, God does the saving. All of it! Dad – Continued From the Dedication Remember in my dedication to my Dad that I said my last words to him were, “I’ll see you in Heaven, Dad?” During Dad’s last three years, he enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner with my wife and me. In Sacramento, California, we dined on the Delta King, a rear-paddle riverboat converted into a wonderful restaurant. We walked on the gangway and down the only set stairs to the deck of the Delta King. Entering the dining area, the maître d’ ushered my Dad, his wife, and me and my wife to a table. He enjoyed our company and we enjoyed his. About to go our separate ways, Dad said, “Next year? Ok, Ed?” To which I replied, “Of course, Dad. We’ll all have Thanksgiving here next year.” 2003 was his last Thanksgiving meal. That following Thanksgiving in 2004 my wife and I walked into the Delta King and as the maître d was showing us to our table, I noticed a man outside the dining room. He would have been standing on the outside deck. His face was smiling – no – his face was full of laughter – joyful – bright and youthful. He was waving, and he was looking right at me. I thought, no one is ever that happy! So I turned around expecting a sitting patron to be waving back at this very happy man. I looked. No one noticed. No one cared. Not even the kids who sat near the window noticed the man who waved. My wife did not notice him until I got her attention. “Who’s he waving at?” I asked her. She looked at him and then around to the busy dining room, and back to me. “He looks so much like your Dad,” she said. I looked again. He did look like Dad but much younger and healthier. This insane guy who waved – at me - appeared way happier! Beside, Dad had died six months ago. I watched them close the casket on the 82 year-old, once fabulous physician. As I walked with my wife and the maître d, the man, who looked like Dad, continued waving and looking right at me. Still, no one else in the dining room noticed this super happy man waving – not even the people sitting by the window!!! “What would you like the drink?” the maître d inquired. In unison, “Tea,” we replied. Still standing and watching him wave, I told my wife, “I’ll be right back.” Still – no one in the dining room seemed to be aware of the man in the window making a fool of himself. Watching him wave, smile, and laugh I had only to take some twenty steps to a door that opened onto the deck. Mind you, his waving followed me as I went to the door. I reached the door and popped it open. He was gone. Vanished.
  • 38. There was only the stairs and elevator but those were about eighty feet distant from the window. There was no way for a physical man to stay waving at that window and leave it and not see him running toward the steps or to wait at the elevator while pushing the up button. Just no way. I believe it was Dad. I believe that the Lord allowed me to see Dad as God had changed him in the six months of being in Heaven.
