Dear Mr Black,
I am writing to you sir because I am in need of a job in your coal mine. I would be
very grateful if I could work with you and your other fellow workers. I have heard
rumours that your coal mine is spectacular.
There are many reasons why I am a good worker to work in your coal mine. Firstly
I am strong to push and pull your very heavy carts and I can pull them even in the
most terrible conditions! I am determined to get them from top to bottom.
Secondly I am really hard working and can quickly make good friends and get along
with the other workers. Also I am very confident at this because I am not scared of
anything. For instance when I was a sweeping boy there was a loose dog in the street
so I scared it off with my broom then carried on sweeping as normal.
In addition to these skills I thought I would tell you that I am not scared of the dark
because I used to sweep the streets at night with howling dogs and frightening
cobwebs. Well not frightening to me!!
I really need the money sir, I am an orphan trying to care for my baby sister. We live
on the streets pleading for money to care for ourselves. I hope I get the job soon.
