1. RECOGNIZE THE TALENT
For wellbeing& growth of any society it is of utmost importance that all kind of talent are
recognized & paid due respect . It is for the betterment of society that talent at different
&diverse section of society should be protected & helped . Just for a second we look around us
& think if we are living in a better world then this is due to the combined efforts of some
brilliant individual talent who with their relentless energy & pursuit for sheer excellence
resulted in achieving brilliant creations in their respective field which ultimately helped the
mankind.
Our nation is full of talented people but unfortunately our society has become so selfish & self-
cantered that we only give importance to those who some way or other can bring some benefits
to us. We do not realize that it is the talent which can create something which can help all
section of society.
In spite of full of talent in all areas our nation is lagging behind due to one fact we do not
recognize & respect talent. Be it Politics , Corporates, Administrative services , Science &
technology everywhere talented people are marginalized & suppressed. The talent from our
country migrates to other country & make significant contribution abroad but we suffer. We
have become so selfish that we are only concerned about our own well-being at any cost but we
ignore our collective responsibility towards our society & nation as a whole. We crib that we
live in a country where standard of living is so poor, law & order is only for rich & powerful ,
Infrastructure is so bad, government is so corrupt but when a colleague of ours who is more
talented than us has a chance of being recognized we do everything to curtail his or her chances
for recognition & fame. If you ignore excellence then how can you get the best of everything in
your daily life.
A honest police officer gets frequent transfers , a honest administrative officer gets snubbed
everyday by a tainted politician , a honest employee is devoid of promotion by his or her
superiors , list is endless & this is one reason despite of abundance of raw talent available at
every field we fail to give them respect & recognition. We can dispute this fact by saying look
we respect Sachin Tendulkar , we respect Amitabh bacchan, yes there are exceptions but for one
Sachin how many unknown sachins must have gone unnoticed , even I rate Laxman&Saurav no
lesser cricketer than Sachin. Saurav was one of the most successful captain after Tiger Pataudi.
Laxman always played a important role for indian team but did Saurav got the importance
what he should have got, I feel no.
Most of us know that we got defeated in 1962 war with china due to total failure in
understanding the Chinese psychology by our Political leaders. In the sudden attack & total lack
of direction provided by political class to our Army it was apparent that defeat was written on
the wall. Even in that situation the Indian army fought tooth & nail & in some of the battles
almost half of the battalion died fighting to protect their post so the Chinese army could not
enter the Indian territory. They fought with their bayonet & bare hand when the ammunition
got exhausted but never retreated. One of those battles were Rezang la battle where a regiment
of was commanded by Major shaitansingh who died fighting along with hundreds of his

2. soldiers. Shaitan Singh got Paramvir Chakra but how many indian knows his name or for that
matter even his battalion which gave their lives valiantly so that we be remain safe. The only
tribute is indirect enactment in Hindi Movie by great directorChetanAnandHaqeeqat where he
picturized some battle scenes based on rezang la battle.
I was travelling by Taxi on a national highway. I hire same taxi every time I visit one of my
working place. My driver recently told me that sir see how good our national highways has
become. He suddenly said that we as a community are very jealous of talented people , I
enquired why he is making this statement. He said look who initiated this highway project ,
AtalbehariBajpayee but see when a different government came they removed his name from
signboard, at least they should have let his name remain on the signboard as respect towards a
good work which he initiated. I do not follow any political party but his reply made me think
that whatever level you are , a talented person is bound to get ignorance & indifference in our
nation & then we crib that we are not progressing as we should have. A talented person will
bring result no matter whether he or she gets support but in absence of recognition & support
the result would be delayed or slowe down.
