1. Student Safety Sign
Awareness
The Student Safety sign at WEGC is designed so students and drivers are
continually at their safest and are looking out for others. The Student
Safety Sign shows times in the morning and afternoon that cars are not
allowed to stop at the gate or around the gate on the yellow lines,
because of students that are around this area due to school.
At the moment many cars are not following these rules set to ensure
student's safety, but Road Safety Sisters (RSS) in year 10 geography
want to make a change.
As part of the geo assessment for this year, we have to look at a
problem at our school involving safety issues and look at ways to
improve on these. RSS want to make this area around WEGC safer for
students and to make this possible we need you to follow the Student
Safety Sign.
For you to help us with making Wellington East Girls' College a safer and
student friendly place please take time to look at the Student Safety
Sign located around the school's entrance and rethink where you drop
off your student. An idea as to where you should drop off or pick up
your student is further down on Austin Street or on other side streets in
Mt Victoria.
