Health and wellness researchers have invested a lot of money, time and resources to arrive at the same wisdom that's
been at the core of drumming culture for a very long time. Drumming has healthy rewards. Of course, at this point, I
could have you reading quotes, research facts and analysis, all numbered with source references.
(Trust me, the preponderance of evidence is overwhelming).
Instead, I invite you to witness the effects for yourself. Join us at our Carlsbad Drum Jam every Sunday before the
Full Moon and before the New Moon from 3-5pm - Triangle Park at Frazee Beach in Carlsbad Village (intersection of
Carlsbad Blvd. and Pine Avenue).

Whether you're listening to an internationally renowned band or a local bar band, it's the synergy of the
participants that makes the collective experience. When community drumming is introduced into a
group of participants, a transformational magic takes over. This is not magic of the hocus-pocus
brand, this is tapping into a well of joy and community that each participant realizes while being
supported and encouraged by each other. Within the collective voice, every participant has a role (part)
that supports the group. These parts are then layered and reinforced. Everyone has an opportunity to
express themselves as we strongly encourage improvisation. With seasoned stewardship, a group of
players will reap joyful rewards as they enjoy the experience of a cooperative community.
As facilitators, we guide this process by using Traditional Cultural Drumming (®TCD)
techniques and Body Pulse / Tempo Rhythm (®BM/TR)

Don't have to be. * Relax * You're with friends.
No prior playing experience is necessary to participate in the workshop. We show you rhythms using ®TCD
techniques.., help you identify your natural rhythm using ®BM/TR.., provide indigenous instruments for you to play..
and encourage improvisation.

What's taking you so long. Get it!!! hey..got a harmonica?
Although we have drumming at the core of our workshop, all instrumentation is welcomed.
Can I just sing or dance?

If you are inspired to vocalize or contribute with dance there is space for you, as well.
