The water cycle describes the continuous movement of water on, above, and below the surface of the Earth. Water evaporates from bodies of water and plants, forms clouds, condenses into rain or snow, and falls back to Earth where it collects in lakes, oceans, soil, and groundwater, completing the cycle. There are many hands-on activities and games that can help students understand and remember the water cycle, such as building a model of the cycle using common household items or acting out the stages through role play.
