Dungarvan History
Professor Seán Duffy, Trinity College Dublin
Seán Duffy is Professor of Medieval History at Trinity
College Dublin. His books include Ireland in the Middle
Ages (1997), The Concise History of Ireland (2000), Brian Boru
and the Battle of Clontarf (2013). He is also the editor of the
long-running Medieval Dublin series (2000–).
Laoise O’Brien
Laoise O’Brien performs a range of music from the 12th –
21st centuries and plays recorder and flute. She has played
in a number of groups such as the Irish Baroque Orchestra,
Cammerata Kilkenny and the National Symphony Orchestra.

Siobhán Armstrong
Siobhán Armstrong is the founder of The Historical Harp
Society of Ireland and is director of Scoil na gCláirseach –
Summer School of Early Irish Harp. Siobhán performs and
records with leading early music soloists, ensembles and
directors, in Europe, North America and Japan.

Niall de Búrca
Niall de Búrca is one of Ireland’s finest traditional
storytellers. He has featured in theatre, radio and
numerous festivals, including, Féile Earraí, the C.S. Lewis
Festival and National Children’s Book Festival.

Dave Pollock
Dave Pollock is an archaeologist and has carried out
excavations of Dungarvan Castle. He is the author of
“Medieval Dungarvan above and below ground” – An
Illustrated Introduction to the Medieval archaeology of
Dungarvan, Co. Waterford.
