1. Taitung
I've been around Taiwan for many years and there's only one place on this island where
locals were able to rip me off on booze (like charging me 2-3 times the normal price for beer)
in the middle of the night and it was here, in Taitung. The Guanshan bike-way is 12 km long
and circle the city, it starts and ends at the Waterpark.
The water from the hot spring is too hot for anyone to swim directly in it, that's why you won't
find any natural” hot springs there. Tourism in Taitung surrounds the area's natural offerings
as well as exploration into its aboriginal heritage. Taitung's share in NAFDA, means that we
have access to all leading food service products and professionals that enables us to fulfill all
client requirements throughout Australia.
Bunun Tribe Cultural Park: this project aims at enabling the local population and providing
them with the necessary tools to make a living. Archaeologists based out of National Taiwan
University underwent the excavation legwork to bring this museum to life, uncovering tens of
thousands of artifacts.
Some tribes can have different social codes than what foreigners or even locals are used to,
always exercise caution when visiting aboriginal villages. Usually made of wild boar or dear
and a range of plants you've never heard about, the Taiwanese aboriginal food is usually
really tasty and different from the more classical Taiwanese food.
The best place to go out to listen to music and get wasted in Taitung is not in the city itself -
it's in the village of Dulan , about 30 minutes south of Taitung (by car) on Highway 11, where
most of the action happens on Saturday nights. Taitung is one of Taiwan's most beautiful
counties, surrounded by mountains and nature, Taitung is a breath of fresh air in a country
densely populated and over-developed.
Taitung's food offerings are various thanks to the heavy influence of a number of indigenous
specialties. Get ready to be fascinated by the islands, hot springs, mountains, and many
other attractions. The cultural park is a community-based project and they welcome visitors
to share the Bunun culture with tourists.
It's also great in terms of culture, most people living there are from the Yami tribe, traditions
are still strongly implemented. If you want to try the aboriginal cuisine head for Mi Ba Nai in
Taitung city or Luolei restaurant which also offers traditional music performances.

You can go for a walk to enjoy the scenery and see the abandoned aboriginal village or rent
a scooter for around 20 USD to explore the rest of the area. Apart from its natural wonders
and well-preserved culture, the slow pace of life also adds to Taitung's charm.
