Advertising Standards Authority
The AdvertisingStandards Authority is the UK’s independent
regulator of advertisingacross all media. We apply the Advertising
Codes, which are written by the Committees of Advertising
Practice. Our work includes actingon complaints and proactively
checkingthe media to take action againstmisleading, harmful or
offensive advertisements.
For example you wouldn’tbe aloud to have someone smoking
because it’s a bad influence andthe ASA wouldcheck it before it
gets release and they have to check the product doesn’t says it’s
the best because it cannot be proved therefore it is false
advertising.
