A) Scuttle section (polyester part)
Stir the plastic primer for at least 1 minute
before application.
Only apply the plastic primer to the areas
where the flange has been damaged as far as
the polyester during removal or cleaning.
Applying plastic primer to the remaining film of
mastic serves no purpose and is not
recommended.
PREPARING THE WINDSCREEN APERTURE
B) Cant rails section (aluminium parts)
Preparing the aluminium primer
Mix the activator and the primer in the ratio
50/50.
Let it rest for 15 minutes.
Application
Only apply the aluminium primer to the areas
where the flange has been damaged as far as
the aluminium during removal or cleaning.
Wait 12 hours before attaching the windscreen.
Applying aluminium primer to the remaining film
of mastic serves no purpose and is not
recommended.
Using a 20 to 25 mm wide spatula, sharpened into
a cutting blade, cut and level the bead of mastic in
order to leave a thickness of 0.5 to 1 mm on the
aperture flange.
Use gloves when carrying out this operation.
NOTE: It is essential to leave a film of mastic on
the flange to support the new bead.
Avoid using a blower to remove the mastic resi-
due and dust.
Do not apply any cleaning or degreasing product
to the remaining bead and avoid touching it as
much as possible.
This will result in a mating surface on the remai-
ning bead which is free of any solvents or dirt.
