Строительство мемориала Шалом на старинном заброшенном еврейском кладбище на станции Мысовая, расположенной на южном побережье озера Байкал. Строительство мемориала велось семьей Черных с июля 2013 года по 16 июня 2014 года.

Железнодорожная станция Мысовая стоит на пересечении трех
дорог: Великого Чайного пути, Кругоморского тракта и
Транссибирской железной дороги.

The Railway station Mysovaya stands at the intersection of three roads: the
Great Tea way, the Krugomorskoy road, and the Transsiberian railway.

Она находится на берегу самого глубокого в мире сибирского озера - Байкал, в
5000 км на восток от Москвы и в 3000 км на запад от Японии. Длина озера -
636 км, глубина - 1620 метров.
It is located on the shore of the deepest lake in the world - Siberia's Lake Baikal. Lake
Baikal is 5,000 kilometers to the East from Moscow and 3,000 km to the West from
Japan, the lake is 636 km long and has the depth of 1642 meters.

6. У Владимира и Ии Ротт возникла идея поставить монумент похороненным на
этом кладбище. Обсуждение строительства мемориала началось еще в Венгрии
в апреле 2013 года.

Iya and Vladimir Rott had the idea to place a monument to buried people in this
cemetery. The discussion of the construction began in Hungary in April 2013.

7. До начала работ кладбище выглядело так – заросшее, запущенное,
перекопанное.

Before the beginning work the cemetery was overgrown, neglected, dug.

8. Так как камни были скинуты кучами в ямы, приходилось их откапывать,
доставать, очищать, отмывать.

The heaps of stones were thrown off in the pits, that’s why we dug, got, cleaned,
and washed them.

13. Из 59 сохранившихся камней – оказалось всего 14 памятников, на которых
смогли прочесть надписи. Остальные камни являются основаниями для
памятников.

Of the 59-extanted stones there were only 14 monuments, which we were able
to read the inscriptions. The other stones are grounds for monuments.

14. Приходилось лебедкой поднимать памятники , скинутые варварами в
разрытые могилы.

We had a winch to lift monuments that barbarians thrown in dug graves.

15. Так как кладбище практически уничтожено, то осколки надгробий мы собирали
буквально по кусочкам.

Because the cemetery practically destroyed, we collected the fragments of
tombstones piece by piece.

возможно, являлись украшением надгробий.

Sometimes we found completely unique exhibits which probably were the
decoration of tombstones.

Надписи на надгробиях, сделанные на иврите, рассшифровывались в Торонто
экспертом Гари Киппером.
Headstone Hebrew inscriptions were deciphered in Toronto by expert Gary Kipper.

19. Для обозначения границ кладбища отливали железобетонные столбики. Всего
было отлито 144 штук.

To identify the boundaries of the cemetery we made reinforced concrete
columns. There was made 144 pieces.

We manually drilled wells among the thickets and roots .

We applied the Russian ingenuity : from a huge tree stump we cut down the
slender column.

выбрано на юго-западном углу кладбища, где не было никаких захоронений.

selected at the South-Western corner of the cemetery, where there were no
graves.

28. И началось «грандиозное» строительство – выкорчевывали пни и корневища,

And the "grandiose" construction began. We rooted out stumps and roots,

we marked out the boundaries of the pit to the site for the memorial,

30. бурили отверстия под сваи для площадки и мемориала,

we drilled holes for piles of the site and the memorial,

31. замешивали раствор для заливки свай под площадку и мемориал, заодно и
загорали,

We mixed the solution for filling piles for the site and memorial, at the same time
we sunbathed,

32. подвозили щебень для отсыпки котлована,

we brought up rubble for pouring of the foundation pit,

33. сваривали на месте решетку под площадку.

We welded lattice for site right on the spot.

34. Бетон на заливку площадки доставили этой машиной из Улан-Удэ.

The concrete to fill the platform was delivered by this vehicle from Ulan-Ude.

35. Через эту «дорогу» бетоновоз проехать не смог,

Through this "road" the concrete Hauler wasn’t able to drive ,

That’s why we carried the concrete with barrow.

и доставляли к месту строительства
мемориала. Ввиду поломки фотоаппарата на
данном этапе, фотографий, запечатлевших
этот процесс и процесс заливки мемориала,
не имеется. Приносим свои извинения.
• The frame of the stele was welded in a strange
workshop and delivered to the construction site
of the memorial. Because of breakage of the
camera at this stage, there are no photos of this
process and the process of filling memorial. We
apologize.

используя генератор.

cemetery,

безжизненные пни, порой достигающие в обхвате полутора метров. И эти пни с
огромным трудом нам приходилось выкорчевывать,

where once old trees grew, instead of which now dry lifeless stumps protruded,
sometimes reaching around one and a half meters. And these stumps we had to
uproot with great difficulty,

плиты до открытия.

before the opening.

Владимир и Ия Ротт, преодолевая трудности и
