This document outlines a webquest where students manage a monthly budget by choosing a career, salary, vehicle, and estimating costs of daily necessities. The task, process, and evaluation sections provide steps for students to research career salaries, vehicle costs, and price common household items to see if their salary can support the estimated expenses. If the expenses are greater than their salary, students must adjust their selections to fit within their budget. The conclusion reflects on the challenges of financial responsibility.

To accomplish your task you will work individually. The steps you will need to finish this
WebQuest are as follows:
Title 1.First you will pick a career
2.Once you have found a career that interests you, you will search for it’s yearly salary
Introduction 3.After you figure out the yearly salary you will divide by twelve to get your monthly budget
4.You will now pick a car. You can either use a car payment that you previously pay or go to
Task any dealership website and pick a car. If you go to a dealership website you must find out the
Process total value of the car and divide by twelve to find out your monthly payment. (Remember you
have other items that you will need to purchase so be smart choosing your car!)
Evaluation 5.Once you have completed all of this you will go to either walmart.com or target.com and
figure out the value for the items that are listed under The Task section.
Conclusion 6.Once all of these steps have been completed you must add up all your totals and subtract
them from your careers’ monthly salary.
7.If you return a positive number then you have budgeted your money well, if you return a
negative number you must repeat steps four through six until you return a positive number.
It will be important for you to cite all of your findings that you find online and keep track of
all the websites that you use. I have provided a few for you to use to help you get started.
