The document outlines the aims and objectives of a mission or organization. The motto is to provide maximum happiness to the maximum number of people for the maximum time. The objective is spiritual renaissance and happiness for all people worldwide, beyond sects or regions. A typical study group program is then described, including chanting, introspection, scripture discussion, meditation and pledge.
3. Our Motto
To give the maximum happiness to the maximum number for
the maximum time is our religion.
Aims and Objects
The aim of the mission is well expressed in the motto. The
objective of happiness to the maximum number emcompasses the
whole human race. This necessarily takes us beyond all sectarianism
and parochialism. In other words, we aim at the spiritual renaissance
of the individuals as a unit of society, country, nation, nay, of the
whole world.

3. Introspection
The following questions are asked by Group Sewak. Every body answers
mentally to himself -
(1) How far am I maintaining Brahmacharya?
(2) Did I, during this week, live less passionately and less selfishly?
(3) Have I any bad feelings towards any member of my spiritual family -
the Chinmaya Mission?
(4) Am I progressing and proving to myself and others a better man, a
more cheerful man, each day?
(5) Did I meditate all the days of this week?
(6) How far have I developed in constant and repeated ISHWAR
SMARANA?
(7) Did I read every day atleast three pages of the scriptures?

8. The spiritual text ( )
It is to be taken stanza by stanza and commented upon by the Group Sewak
21
22. 9. Discussions ( )
The Group Sewak may act as a mediator
10. Meditation
Let all members sit in their favourite pose with head erect and eyes closed. The
Group Sewak may chant a short Mantra lowering the pitch of voice by and by.
Everyone repeats the process mentally. Then there is a silence. Every body tries
to live in that silence, abandoning all sorts of ideas. If any thought comes in mind
one should try to become its witness (Sakshi). The whole process may take only
5 to 7 minutes.

25. 12. Pledge
We stand as one family,
bound to each other with love and respect.
We serve as an army,
Courageous and disciplined,
ever-ready to fight against,
all low tendencies and false values,
within and without us.
We live honestly,
the noble life of sacrifice and service,
producing more than what we consume,
and giving more than what we take.
25
26. We seek the Lord's Grace,
to keep us on the path of virtue, courage and wisdom.
May Thy Grace and Blessings flow,
through us to the world around us.
We believe that the service of our country
is the service of Lord of Lords,
and devotion to the people,
is the devotion to the Supreme Self
We know our responsibilities,
give us the ability and courage to fulfill them.
