Editor's Notes

As our governement affairs opperartions and outreach expand its important to define the mission of the department its participates and especially the organization
This is the 30-90-300 PLAN.At the end of 30 days 90 days and 300 days we should accomplish the following goals along with others . Using these highlights as starting/discussion points the Government Affairs committee can deliberate on the details necessary for executing the plan in each state which several will be detailed and identified later. It is my approach to plans within a large and active group to stay fluid and especially in the government affairs arena. This outline provides points were government affairs activites can move forward from and concentrate while having the flexibility to move from issue to issue
At the conclusion of this conference will we’ll create and establish the GA committee as well as others . I have detailed the most valuable assets this committee will have at its disposal and these assess should be able to propel any plan/effort to success
One of the first goals assigned was to introduce legislation in NY. Wee succeeded in this goal in early May but due to circumstance out of our control the bill was unable to proceed through the legislature. Now we face other challenges but we can still perform work to prepare for the near future. NY like the congress, will swear in a new legislature and our bill needs to be re-introduced we also have to wait to recruit new sponsor due to the election. All NY legislaors are up for re-election this year and many have retired or moved on to other opportunities therefore a score of new individuals will be elected. This means that many committee assignments and chairs will have new faces but that will not officially happen until January 1 but we can still work with key central staff people and other to ensure reintroduction.
