Choice Awards
The Choice Awards recognise and reward those members who make the greatest contribution
to Travellers Choice through their preferred supplier sales. The program recognises the top 30
agents as Gold, Silver or Bronze Choice Award winners based on financial results achieved
during the last complete financial year. Winners receive a range of benefits including an invitation
to attend an exclusive reward trip.
Brian Pateman Agency Award for Excellence
This award recognises an agency member committed to the achievement of excellence across
a range of criteria that support the culture and values of Travellers Choice and which enable
all members to qualify, irrespective of agency size and membership duration. These include
preferred supplier sales, attendance at events, involvement in local area and discretionary
marketing, general positive attitude towards membership and support of fellow members.
The award is in memory of Brian Pateman, a founding member of the group who owned
Walkabout Travel in the 1980-90’s in Perth, and who championed providing excellence in
customer service.
Top Performing Agent Awards
Preferred suppliers nominate one Travellers Choice agency to receive the Top Performing
Agent Award based on the agent’s support in any of sales volume, year on year percentage
sales growth, local area sales development initiatives, product knowledge, staff/agency
professionalism and function participation and involvement.
Encouragement Award
This award recognises a smaller agency member who has significant support and demonstrated
growth in preferred supplier selling.
Service Awards
The Service Awards recognise agency membership tenure of the group and Travellers Choice
staff employment longevity. They are awarded in recognition of 10, 15, 20 and 25 years of
service.

Chief Executive Officer
Christian has worked in the UK and Australian travel industries for more
than 20 years. He has extensive experience in the travel agency sector and
also holds a Bachelor of Commerce. Christian joined Travellers Choice in a
finance role in 2004 and held several positions, including General Manager,
before being appointed as CEO in 2012. Additionally, he is a Director of the
Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA).
Robyn Mitchell
Marketing Manager
Robyn has post-graduate qualifications in marketing and public relations
and provided marketing services to Perth-based companies before joining
the Travellers Choice marketing department in 2006. In 2010 she was
appointed as Marketing Manager and now leads a team responsible for
delivering a broad portfolio of marketing services.
Leith Poad
Sales Development Manager
Leith commenced her career in travel in 1996 with the Australian Federation
of Travel Agents following university studies. She has a background in
training and spent two years in Sydney in a national sales and business
development role with a large travel wholesaler. Leith has worked for
Travellers Choice for over 10 years in various roles including administration,
marketing and sales. From 2007 she held the position of Business
Development Manager in Western Australia, and in 2011 was appointed to
the national role of Sales Development Manager.

Sharon started her career in travel in
1976 as a consultant with Stewart
Moffat Travel. She then held sales
roles with Thai Airways and DriveAway
Holidays before joining Travellers Choice
in 2000.
Simon’s travel career started in 1965
with PO Orient Lines. He then spent
nearly 30 years in various roles with
Ansett Airlines and Traveland before
joining Travellers Choice in 2002.
Jane has 20 years experience in
the travel industry including several
corporate consultant roles with Carlson
Wagonlit Travel. She has been with
Travellers Choice since 2009.
Melissa has worked in travel since 2000
as a corporate consultant as well as in
customer service and sales roles with
Trafalgar and Insight Vacations. She has
been with Travellers Choice since 2012.
Bruce has worked in the travel industry
for over 30 years. In addition to retail
agency roles, he has also held positions
with Harvey World Travel and Great
Southern Rail. Bruce has been with
Travellers Choice since 2004.
AJ’s career in travel spans 25 years.
After managing the Harrods travel
department, she also held roles with
Top Deck Travel and Jakarta’s Pacific
Travel before joining Travellers Choice
