3. INTRODUCTION:
• Christopher D’Olier Reeve[1] was born on
(September 25, 1952 in New york city and was
raised in Princeton, New Jersey.
• He was the son of Barbara Pitney , a journalist;
and Franklin D’Olier Reeve (1928–2013), a
teacher, novelist, poet, and scholar.
• His occupations included, actor(American), film
director, author, and activist.
• He married his wife Dana Reeves on April 11 ,
1992.
• He had three children William , Mathew and
Alexandra reeves.
4. • He was best known for playing the main
character in the film Superman (1978) and
three sequels.
• His film was a success both critically and
commercially.
• He had a passion for acting since the age of
nine.
• He studied at Cornell University and
the Juilliard School and made his Broadway
debut in 1976.
• He died of Heart failure on October 10,
2004 (aged 52) in Mount Kisco ,New York.

THAT CHANGED HIS
LIFE
• On May 27, 1995 a very tragic day ,the
actor injured his spinal cord and neck
after falling off his horse in an
equestrian competition.
• On that spring afternoon, along with
300 other riders, he participated in a
roadblock test in the small town of
Culpeper, Virginia.
• As he approached a triple-pole jump,
due to his horse Reeve fell head-first
across the barrier.
6. • The injuries were so severe that even
his mother begged the doctors to
withdraw his mechanical ventilation.
• The injury paralyzed him from the
shoulders down, and he used a
wheelchair and ventilator for the rest
of his life.
• he came to the possibility of ending
his life .

further to the left, he would have died
on the spot.

most likely walk out with less than a
concussion.

disabilities.

family members have benefited from
his work.

• Despite his condition, the actor
continued to perform .

October 2004 at the age of 52.
• He was nominated for a Golden Globe for his work
on a TV .
• Reeves started doing social work after his accident
which became a motivation for him.

injury, accomplished many great things.
