12. What is site based cyanide plant?
As a response to the hazards associated with the existing sodium
cyanide production, transportation and handling, Company has
created a world-first process plant to produce sodium cyanide at
the mine itself, rather than transport it from an external production
facility. This completely eliminates the biggest environmental risk
faced by any type of mining today - a cyanide spill during
transportation from the producer to a mine site. Instead of the
traditional way of purchasing and shipping large amounts of
sodium cyanide from large production facilities to the mine site,
Company’s cyanide plant will manufacture sodium cyanide on-site
at the mineral processing plant on a “just-in-time” basis.
