Applications of
methylamine
include the following: used to
produce a variety of important
chemical products: pharmaceuticals,
pesticides, fuel additives, explosives,
solvents, and cleaning agents,
chemicals for the tanning of leather
and dye processes **Moisture level

Fluorocarbons prepares the
cylinders.
METHYLAMINE PLANT - 15,600 TPY
This complete plant includes two
production units. The first unit uses
ammonia and methanol as raw materials to
produce Monomethylamine (MMA), and
then Dimethylamine (DMA) and
Trimethylamine (TMA). The reaction occurs
in the vapor phase fixed bed of silica-
alumina catalyst. Overall capacity is 3,000
TPY MMA, 8,600 TPY DMA and 4,000 TMA.
The second unit reacts DMA with Methyl
Acetate to generate Dimethylacetamide
(DMAc). The design capacity is 3,500 TPY of
DMAc. The process technology and
engineering is from ICI.
• Methylamine is manufactured as
solution in ethanol, methanol, and
water. It is also manufactured as
anhydrous gas in pressurized
metal containers.
• Based on form, the global
methylamine market can be
segmented into gas and liquid.
The gas segment dominated the
global methylamine market in
2020. In terms of revenue, the
liquid segment is anticipated to
expand at a faster pace during
the forecast period. Liquid
methylamine is used as solvent in
the synthesis of various chemical
compounds.
Methylamine is used as a building block for
the production of various other compounds
with catalytic activity. It is used as a chemical
intermediate to produce biocides, herbicides,
insecticides, and some surfactants. It is also
used as a component to synthesize
