2. PHOENIX Project
• University of Petra (UOP) has been established
since 1990.
• UOP carries the name and the logo of the most
important historical cities of the world usually
called the "rose-red city". However, the University
is located near the center of Amman, the capital of
Jordan, 7 km south of the 7th circle off the airport
road.
3. PHOENIX Project
• UOP campus is compact with all facilities within easy
walking distance. It includes teaching facilities,
administrative areas, theatres, a library, a computer
centre, a clinic, a bank, a mini-supermarket,
restaurants and coffee shops, and a bookstore. These
are all grouped in the heart of the campus creating a
strong sense of social and academic community
4. PHOENIX Project
• The total number of students at UOP ranges between
6800 -7000.
• Approximately 17% of students are international,
currently from 31 different countries.
• The students/staff ratio is approximately 21
