Teriyaki Madness Named Best Franchise Deal by QSR Magazine
Asian Food Franchise Makes “Hungry Upstarts” List for 2014
DENVER (July 7, 2014)— QSR Magazine has compiled its fifth-annual “Best Franchise Deals” report based on
franchise opportunity factors including corporate support, marketplace differentiation, and sales momentum.
Making “The Hungry Upstarts” category in 2014 is Asian food franchise, Teriyaki Madness.
The emerging QSR franchise has recorded three consecutive years of double-digit, same-store sales increases,
including an impressive 14 percent gain in 2013.With an investment range of $227,199 to $441,850, Teriyaki
Madness boasts average unit volumes of more than $971,000 and profitability of 17 percent to 22 percent
annually.
While the franchise continues to increase its unit count across the country, the focus remains on building the
system by maximizing unit-level economics. The effort has paid off tremendously with a 17.6 percent increase in
same store sales year over year, crushing the QSR franchise industry average by nearly 400 percent. The company
has achieved these incredible numbers by simplifying the menu and introducing best practices that have
contributed to the robust unit-level economics.
“It is a huge honor for our brand to be among the rising companies and established industry veterans listed by QSR
Magazine,” said Rod Arreola, co-founder and CEO of Teriyaki Madness. “From our humble beginnings in Vegas to
our multi-regional success, I am proud of the work our team has done to build this idea into a successful franchise
system.”
Teriyaki Madness recently expanded its presence outside of Las Vegas, where the franchise has made its mark with
9 successful locations. New openings outside of Las Vegas included Denver, Jonesboro and Pasadena, California.
The new restaurants are setting sales records and proving the concept to be successful in markets across the
country. Building on the momentum, Teriyaki Madness recently signed agreements that will move the brand into
new markets including Florida, California, Michigan, New Jersey and Ohio to open a projected 30 units by this
year’s conclusion and 100 locations by the end of 2016.
Teriyaki Madness appeals to potential franchisees seeking an alternative to traditional fast-casual opportunities
such as pizza, burgers and subs. With made-to-order entrees featuring signature sauces, fresh vegetables and 100
percent real ingredients, the fresh Asian grill serves healthier, hearty, protein-packed portions that leave guests
fully satisfied. Started by three aspiring entrepreneurs who wanted to launch a teriyaki concept similar to their
favorites back home in Seattle, Teriyaki Madness is looking to build upon the brand’s 10 profitable locations in Las
Vegas, Denver and Jonesboro.
