1. TJM Properties Purchases Two
New Assisted-Living Properties

2. • TJM Properties’ Owner and President, Terence J. McCarthy, recently led
the company’s acquisition of the Sunset Lake Village assisted-living facility
in Venice, FL, and the Village Place assisted-living center in Port
Charlotte, FL. TJM Properties, a senior-living real estate company located
in the Tampa-St. Petersburg, FL., area, purchased the properties for $6.2
million each from the Greystone Healthcare Management Corp. The 110-
bed Sunset Lake sold for approximately $56,000 per licensed bed, while
the 92-unit Village Place, which is licensed for 114 beds, sold at about
$67,000 per unit.
Terence J. McCarthy incorporated TJM Properties in 1979. Today, he owns
and operates nearly 2,000 independent assist-living skilled nursing units
located throughout central Florida. Currently, the real estate firm manages
properties in communities including Brooksville, Sanford, Bradenton, Port
Charlotte, Lake Alfred, and Winter Haven. Sunset Lake and Village Place
were the 12th and 13th senior-living centers acquired by the company in
