Launch of the second Cultural Peace Caravan
The 6th Edition of Taragalte Festival will be held in M’Hamid El Ghizlane (south Morocco) celebrating music, art, poetry and culture of the region. The festival’s goal is to promote awareness around the ancient heritage of this region making live again old moussems (traditional festivals) which had disappeared when the trade caravans stopped their activity. This year the festival will revive the traditional caravans hosting, musical , natural products and the trans–boundary cultural caravan for peace which will promote a dialogue, enhance cultural awareness and celebrate artistic expression while benefiting local economies in the Sahel and Sahara

January 21th: Marrakech/ Ait Ben Haddou/Ouarzazate
Departure Marrakech in the morning for Ouarzazate via
the Tizi N'Tichka mountain pass (2260 meters) visiting
the famous Kasbahs of Telouet and Ait Ben Haddou
(UNESCO World Heritage site) and location of many
films including: Lawrence of Arabia (1962), The Mummy
(1999), Gladiator (2000), Prince of Persia (2010). Half
board overnight stay in Ouarzazate in a 4 **** hotel.
January 22th: Ouarzazate / The Drâa Valley/ M'Hamid
After breakfast, departure for M'Hamid through the
Drâa Valley visiting villages and Ksours (fortified
villages) toward Zagora. Stop for lunch in Zagora, and
continuation to M’hamid. Arrival in M’hamid village end
of afternoon and transfer to your bivouac for the
duration of your stay. Dinner and night into the desert.
Friday 23th to Sunday, January 25th
Three days Taragalte festival activities on a full board basis.
January 26th: M’hamid/Tamgroute/Ouarzazate
Departure from M´Hamid and stop in Tamgroute to visit the Koranic
library and meet local manufactures of pottery. End of the day, arrival in
Ouarzazate. Half board overnight stay in an hotel.
January 27th: Ouarzazate/Marrakech
After breakfast visit of Taourirt Kasbah and departure for Marrakech.
