Usually masks are displayed in the Alpha Channel of the layer pallet situated in the middle. It shows four different channels with the color named RGB, red, green and blue. Since all masks and channels contain grayscale images so all are editable with many tools like painting tools, editing tools and filters. There are two types of color is used whereas painted black with a mask is safe and when the areas painted white in color is optimized.

we don’t want or want to protect from editing we use masks as an option to cover.
Moreover it is used to apply color, effect into an image for more complex image than simple
one.

Alpha Channels give an opportunity to save a selection for future use. As a result when you
realize it that the selection is important now you can use the selection for applying into the
work.
To protect the important object and isolate the unwanted object Alpha Channels play an important
role in the photo manipulation jobs. So use of it very important to make selection during complex
image editing.
Alpha channel's options
There are a few steps to go to optimize alpha channels are given bellow:
1. Click the channel option and choose the channels from the pallet.
2. Enter a name for the alpha channel what you want
3. You have to specify the foreground and background color for the overlay
4. Next you should specify the mask area where you make a selection
5. After making up above adjustments you can click ok to drop out the dialog box.
Note: You can also simply double-click on the channel thumbnail to bring up the Channel Options
dialog box and make those adjustments.
Important during image masking
Some of the images we found more complex like hair mask, fur mask, smoke to make a selection. A
question is growing right now, how do we can select the fine edges like those blurry objects.
Photoshop offers some technique like layer mask tools, quick mask and Alpha Channel mask. We
mostly use it to select the fine edges of the complex or fuzzy images.
