2. Duties of a carrier by sea
 Following are the duties of a carrier by sea:
 The carrier shall be bound before and at the beginning of voyage to exercise sue
diligence:
1. Make ship seaworthy
2. Properly man, equip and supply of ship
3. Make the holds refrigerating and cool chambers and all other parts of the ship fit
and safe reception, carriage and preservation.

3. Duties of a carrier by sea
 Carrier must be carefully load, handle, stow,, carry and keep care for and discharge
the goods carried.
 After receiving the good the carrier must issue a bill of lading.

4. Liabilities of carrier by sea
 A ship owner is liable for loss arising from his negligence
 Liable for loss provided in act.
 Can not liable for loss if the nature and value has been misstated by the shipper.
 Can not pay damages if the nature and value of good is decleared by ship owner
wrongfully in bill of lading.

5. Liabilities of carrier by sea
 It the dangerous goods are loaded without consent of the carrier they can be
landed at any place and no compensation is paid to the shipper.
 If suit is brought with in one year after delivery of the goods, carrier is discharge
from liabilities.
