2. Clients Vs Service Providers
Clients
• These people are companies that request software
services for which they pay service charges.
• Example: BMW, Citi Bank, Allstate, AT&T etc.
Service
Providers
• These people provide software services to the clients.
• Example: TCS, Wipro, Infosys etc.
4. Details of Life Cycle
Requirement Analysis
• Business requirement. The best
example is to change the existing
website screen to add a new
field to show the currency box.
Once the business analyst
finalizes the requirement, it
comes to the technical architect
to implement it.
Planning
• In this phase, they decide cost,
time required, resources
required, and skills required.
Once the planning is over it goes
to architectural design. Basically,
it’s a technical thing.
5. Details Contd.
• In this phase, prepare a design plan, which outlines the technical changes
for the requirement, and the steps required to follow. There will be a
meeting for this with all the stakeholders (Business and Technical teams). If
no issues, it moves to the Software development/Build Phase.
Architectural Design
• In this phase, developers start writing code according to the Technical
specifications as outlined in the architectural design. These developers to
follow coding standards.
Software Development
6. Details contd..
Code testing
In this phase, the developers will do unit
testing, and fix the issues. The testing
team will do manual or automated
testing to verify code is meeting the
business requirements.
Deployment
In this phase, the developed code, which
usually done in the test server will now
move to the production server. The code
deployment methods vary from project
to project. Developers will verify the
results after the deployment.
7. Production
Support &
Operations
Production Support
• The production support team will look for
any incidents for the newly deployed code. If
they get any incidents, they send them to the
development team to fix them.
Operations
• The team will support any back-end
activities, installation, and patches if
required.
