Database Theory/Design: Mastered techniques for gathering requirements, analyzing, designing,
implementing relational database systems and working with data in relational databases like Oracle.
Data Mining: Obtained knowledge of machine learning with R. Acquired experience in exploring data,
transforming data, building models, evaluating the performance of the models and improving model
performance with R. Worked on small projects which involved classification, forecasting, association
rules, time series and clustering methods like k-NN, Naïve Bayes, decision trees, support vector machine,
Market-basket, linear/logistic regression, random forest, neural networks and many more.
Text/Opinion Mining: Pre-processed the raw text, applied and evaluated text mining methods in R to
extract opinions and sentiments.
Data visualization: Applied key concepts, processes and techniques for story telling with data using
effective visualizations. Used tools like ggplot, Tableau, Excel, QlikView to design and develop effective
data visualizations.
Advanced Data Management: Attained skills to manage structured and unstructured data in relational
and NoSQL databases. Attained hands-on experience in installing, securing, performance tuning, scaling,
backup and recovery of SQL server and MongoDB.
System Analysis/Design: Learnt stakeholder management, interviewing techniques, scope
management, goal definition, use cases, user experience, functional requirements, non-functional
requirements, solutions design, systems modeling and agile requirements.
Business Intelligence & Analytics: Understanding modern Business Analytics concepts, terminology and
frameworks. Learning modern Business Intelligence, Big Data, Data science technologies and BI tools like
MicroStrategy.
