1. Chapter 4 – Growing Up Taylor Cunha 8-14
Quick Write:
I think that Greg’s childhood led him to become a mountain climber because for most
of his childhood was spent in Africa building a hospital with his family, and he spent a lot of
time in the hot outdoors because Africa is very hot. Greg is probably used to being outside
in all different climates and it probably reminds him so much of all the good times he spent
with his family outdoors. I think that Greg was also led to becoming a mountain climber
because he wanted to be like his Father and honor himself and his whole family. Greg is
starting to build schools and is becoming a humanitarian I think that Greg went from a
Mountain climber to a humanitarian because when he seen the children of Korphe doing
their work outside he thought about how fortunate he was to have a family and live in a safe
developed country like America and then he thought about all these children who have so
little but are still making the best out of it. I think Greg also wanted to help out the children
because he wanted to honor his sister Christa and when he was growing up he helped his
family build a hospital in Africa so it wasn’t anything that new to him.
