Enterpreneurship in Agro-business

   A strategic Opportunity for Greek
                Economy
Agriculture: A Dynamic Global Engine
Agriculture will become again the basic natural resource, since oil has risks and as
it comes to an end it will become more and more expensive. Also, due to climate
change, globally, people will have to move back to the roots.

Leaving off the land Leaving off the land

In that context, until 2050, 9 billion of people all around the world will need to be
fed and farmland as well as other resources – water, biodiveristy etc – are
extremely limited. This becomes more interesting since in most of emerging
markets (China, India, Mexico etc) people want to buy Packaged food.
Agriculture: A Strategic Choice for GREECE
In that context, our country, GREECE is blessed with the opportunity to become a
global player in one of the most dynamic fields:
1.The Micro-climate is considered one of the best in the world, with an
unexploited potential
2.The country has a strategic geographical position,in between 3 continents and
at the heart of Eurasia
3.Greek food (called also Mediterranean nutrition) is accepted as top-tier and is
well-known globally
Still, all these years, we did not exploit this opportunity basically due to the wrong
business and economic model that was applied:

Now there is a DEBATE to come
                          back to the primary sector.

Still, if we use the same model,
we will again lose our Goal.
                                      SO WHAT??
The launch of a New Growth model
Bearing in mind that the OLD TOOLS cannot guarantee success and even if they
did they would not guarantee long-lasting and sustainable global Excellence, we
shall introduce an INNOVATIVE ECO-SYSTEM, under a new concept:
                               BIO-ECONOMY
Bio-Economy & Entrepreneurship
The launch of the new Growth model under the umbrella of BIO-ECONOMY will
mean a change in the primary, secondary and tertiary economy, in a long-term
                            sustainable paradigm:

                    New
New usage of New Sales New operational
               Techniques in
materials = channels and tools and needs
                 farming =
new suppliers definitely for Industry and
                knowledge,
                                  of materials higher yields processing
                  tools etc

                                    New final New bi-
               New marketing New materials
                                  products like products R&D
and new global usage – R&D for
                                 biomass or bio- like cosmetics,
                    USPs packaging etc
                                      fuel pharma etc

                                                    New clusters New leverage to
New needs for New need for
that will need New banking and Tourism as a new
               transporation – knowledge, i.e.
to evolve to financing needs differentiated
                    cost University,
                                                       share for expansion point =
                management consulting etc
                                                     knowledge gastronomy

…etc.
So INCREMENTAL CREATION of thousands of new, well-paid, high value-added and
expertise jobs from specialized new companies, parts of a new DIFFERENTIATED model
The Change to…
Bearing in mind that the OLD TOOLS have been part of the «culture» in the
primary sector, that means 700.000 producers and another 17.000 F&B SMEs.
IT IS TRUE that the change to the new paradigm will be difficult and painful.
