How to make the most of your internship, a lecture targeting the graduating students that are about to start there clinical internship (or externship). the lecture provide tips and advice to help benefit the most from the internship period.

2. What is a Medical Internship?
• 12-months period.
• Rotations.
• Pass/ Fail.
• Transition period.
• The skills you gain and develop in this period will stay with
you for the rest of your career.

3. Doctor !, embrace your role.
• Behave, Dress, Think like one.
• Main goal is to learn how to manage patients.
• Know your patients and prepared to present them at any
time.
• Remember that you are taking care of people, be the
doctor you want to take care of you.

4. Be on time.
• Punctuality is an important quality of a doctor.
• First to come, last to leave.
• If running late, call and explain.

5. When you make a mistake
• Don’t hide it.
• Be Honest, and NEVER lie!
• Fix it.

6. Know the basics of the rotation you're in
• Physiology/ Anatomy.
• Approach.
• Management of simple cases.

7. Ask for feedback
• At the end of the rotation.
• Be wise who you ask.

8. Smile
• Its not going to be easy, sometime stressful.
• Don’t complain, or participate in gossips.
• Take it easy and smile .

9. Keep in touch with family and friends
• Support system, keep you sane!
• Keep a link with reality!
