This document contains case studies of three hostel/lodging facilities: 1) Moustache, a backpacker's hostel in Jaipur, India with private rooms, mixed dorms, and female dorms. It is centrally located near transportation. 2) A bus terminal in Vadodara, India that also functions as a commercial complex with shopping areas, dormitories, and waiting areas. 3) The Vietnam Hostel in Danang, Vietnam, designed minimally with dormitories, private rooms, and tourist apartments using sustainable materials.

5. • Moustache is a backpacker's hostel situated in the vicinity of 1km from sindhi camp bus station, metro station
and jaipur junction. It is an ideal place for stay for travelers. It is booked on overnight basis.
• Moustache offers three types of rooms : private rooms, mixed dorms and female dorms. Private rooms have
double beds to cater occupancy for two whereas mixed dorms accommodate both male and female and female
dorms accommodate only females. All the dormitories have bunk beds.
• Dormitories are also divided into two : standard rooms and superior rooms. Superior rooms have more private
cabins compared to standard rooms.
• Each room has attached washrooms and private lockers for travelers to store their luggage.
• There is a provision of common lounge which is fully air conditioned. It has facilities like foosball, kitchenette,
television, PCs, library etc.
• The building has three floors with 8 rooms on each floor. Ground floor has a reception, waiting area, common
toilet, drinking water facility and a common lounge.

Vietnam. It lies on the route to Hoi An,
which is a world heritage site. This has
increased the tourism in Danang.
• To reduce the construction cost, the
Vietnam hostel is designed in a
minimalist form.
• It is constructed using environment
friendly materials like unbaked bricks
and have non plastered walls.
• Division of rooms : dormitories, private
rooms, tourist apartments.
